If you’re looking for a cracking 1440p monitor with a super high refresh rate for under $300, we’ve got you covered right here. On Amazon, we’ve spotted this Acer Nitro 1440p monitor going for 26% off, knocking its price down from $349.99 to just $259.99. That’s a solid saving that puts it painfully close to its all time low price on Amazon.
Here’s a closer look at the deal, and why it stood out from the crowd.
Acer Nitro 27″ WQHD 2560×1440 IPS PC Gaming Monitor
What we like about this Acer montor
- Perfect size for QHD: 27 inches is the sweet spot for 1440p resolution, as it’s not too big that it reduced picture quality. This can happen if you were to go for a 32 inch monitor in some cases, but it’s largely why you won’t see a 43″ 1440p monitor readily available. If you’re going smaller, like 24-inches, you’re better off with FHD resolution instead.
- 300hz refresh rate: For the price range and resolution, that’s a real win here. Having the option to go further than 240hz is always good to have, and ensures that if you’re playing games at very, very high fps, the monitor will be able to accomdate. This is really only reserved for super fast competitive gaming – so if that sounds like you, you’ll do well with this monitor.
- Fast response time: 0.5 ms is actually pretty rapid and means that what you’re looking at on screen should look very smooth, even when images are moving quickly. Remember though, response time is not how ‘responsive’ the monitor is to your inputs – it’s how quickly a pixel can change color. Most monitors come in around 1ms with higher end options getting down to 0.3ms in some cases.
- Decent color accuracy: This monitor supports 99% of the sRGB space, which is surprisingly good for the price point. This means that this monitor isn’t too shabby for graphic designers, photographers and video-editors, as you’ll be able to edit knowing that it’s in line with industry standards.
- VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified: VESA have strict requirements monitors have to meet in order to get these certifications. This rating means that this monitor can achieve a minimum of 400 nits of brightness, and has good contrast and color. It’s on the lower-end, but exactly what you’d expect for a more budget-orientated monitor.
- Ergo stand: Another win that can save you having to buy a whole new monitor arm. This stand can tilt, swivel, pivot, and be height adjusted, so you can find the exact right positioning for you.
- Super thin bezels: The calling card of a higher-end monitor, and great to see at this new deal price. This monitor’s ‘zero frame’ design looks fantastic and really gives a sense of premium quality, without the price tag that is.
Who’s this monitor for?
This monitor is incredibly versatile and pretty much for everyone who’s sticking to a budget of under $300. For gamers, this is a good monitor for every type of gaming experience thanks to the high refresh rate and impressive DisplayHDR 400 rating. Playing a first-person shooter at high fps or playing a more story driven, graphically intense title are both possible with this monitor.
This is also great if you’ve got more of a budget to mid-range PC build, and prefer playing in 1440p, but if you’re planning on upgrading your graphics card to a 50-series option, or even the latest 40-series cards, you may be better off going for a 32″ 4K monitor instead. Worth keeping in mind, if you’re planning on upgrading soon.
As for the deal itself, it’s a good discount from our research using camelcamelcamel, and just shy off its lowest price ever. It may drop further in the Spring Sales, but there’s no guarantee!
