A recent wave of deals has made the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K an attractive option for mid-range PC builds. Originally priced at $404, this new Amazon deal drops the CPU to just $300.25, saving you over $100 off its list price.

Why we like the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K

The Intel Core Ultra 7 265K is a strong candidate for a productivity/workstation build if you don't want to splurge on something expensive like the Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 285K. During our hands-on review, we found it to be a better option for multi-core and multi-threaded workloads compared to the Ryzen 7 9700X, and it's highly efficient, too.

However, it falls slightly behind in gaming performance. While its gaming performance is decent, AMD's alternatives outperform it in this category. That said, if you want a CPU that can handle modern games at high frame rates while still excelling at productivity tasks like video editing and multitasking, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better value than the Core Ultra 7 265K without spending significantly more.

  • Strong Performance: 14-core hybrid design handles gaming and productivity smoothly.
  • Future-Proof: LGA1851 socket & PCIe 5.0 support next-gen upgrades.
  • Power Efficient: 65W TDP runs cooler than previous Intel chips.
  • Decent Gaming: 5-10% behind AMD in FPS, but still great for 1440p gaming.
  • Budget King: $300 price undercuts rivals with similar multi-core power.
