iBUYPOWER Y40 PRO Black Gaming PC – NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB
What we like about this iBUYPOWER Y40 Pro gaming PC
Excellent mid-range 50-series GPU
The RTX 5070 12GB is one of the best graphics cards to go for if you’re looking for something relatively affordable, but punchier than the entry-level RTX 5060. It features 6144 CUDA cores, a 192-bit bus, 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM, a 2325MHz base, and 2512MHz boost clock speed. What sets it apart from the 40-series is the fact that it’s built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, which means you’ve got access to higher bandwidth and faster GDDR7 RAM, alongside new AI features to boost performance, such as DLSS 4 and MFG. Overall, it’s an excellent card for 1440p, and is capable of 4K if you tweak a few settings.
Great value and amazing performance CPU
This build features the impressive Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which is a processor that, despite being released a while back, remains one of the best gaming CPUs on the market. It features 8 cores, 16 threads, a 5GHz boost clock speed, and a massive 96MB L3 cache, which is stacked to allow for more data and quicker access. What this translates to, in terms of gaming performance, is significantly reduced frame latency, meaning an overall smoother gaming experience.

Loads of RAM and storage
You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 RAM here, which is enough to run multiple applications, heavily modded open-world games, and more without slowdown. Plus, you’ve also got a large 2TB SSD, which can easily hold over 15 massive AAA games, and still give you some room for other files.
How will this gaming PC perform?
We reviewed an ASUS TUF RTX 5070 here in our testing labs, and we were impressed with its performance at 1440p, especially. To give you an idea, at ultra settings, Cyberpunk 2077 saw 108fps and 45fps with ray tracing, which is pretty good considering how demanding the game is. Other games like Doom Eternal saw very high frame rates at 1440p, coming in at 316fps and 212fps with ray tracing enabled at ultra settings. Even Indiana Jones, which is known for being demanding on VRAM, saw 152fps, which again, is very impressive.
Who’s this deal for?
This comes in at $1,699.99 at the time of writing, which is quite competitively priced considering this PC has an X3D CPU. We’d say if you’re planning on playing predominantly in 1440p, this is a great build to go for, but for 4K with ray tracing, you’ll want to go a couple levels up to an RTX 5080 at least. RTX 5070 Ti 16GB models are also worth exploring, as a good mid-way point, but can easily hit over $2000. For the price, this is a good mid-range option to go for, especially as you’re getting access to DLSS 4 and MFG to boost performance even further.
