What we like about this Skytech Rampage gaming PC

Excellent value card for 1440p

The RTX 5070 12GB is a great card to go for if you’re trying to stick to a budget, but want something that’s going to be better for 1440p than the more budget-friendly RTX 5060. There were a few very bold claims when this card was announced, specifically about it boasting 4090 performance, but from our testing of an ASUS Prime 5070, we found it to shine with 1440p, rather than 4K. For 4K, go for an RTX 5080 instead. In our testing, we saw the RTX 5070 get 124fps at 1440p in AC Mirage on ultra settings, 45fps at 1440p in Cyberpunk 2077 on ultra settings with ray tracing enabled, and an impressive 212fps at 1440p with Doom Eternal on ultra settings with ray tracing. Of course, this card can also use DLSS and MFG upscaling to increase fps further. In Cyberpunk 2077, at 4K with DLSS Performance, it managed 120fps with ray tracing, for example. Overall, it’s a great card for the money, and one that performs very well at 1440p and can be used for 4K with a few setting tweaks.

Great bang-for-your-buck CPU

This build has the impressive Ryzen 7 7700X, instead of opting for a more expensive recent X3D model or Intel Core Ultra option. Not only does this help keep the overall price of this build down, but it also gives you a quality gaming processor that complements the 5070 very well. This CPU has a decent core and thread count for gaming (8 +16), a high boost clock speed of 5.4GHz, which is up there with the fastest you can get, and a large 32MB L3 cache, which will be ideal for reducing frame latency and enhancing gaming performance. For gaming, this is a great processor to have, but if you’re planning on using this PC for heavy multitasking, then you may want to lean towards something with a higher core and thread count. Overall, though, this is a great CPU to have at your disposal.

Good amount of RAM for the price

Another win with this build is its 32GB of DDR5 RAM, which comes in with 6000Mhz memory speeds, putting it up there with some of the fastest you can get. This amount of RAM is going to be great if you play large pen world titles, with huge asset libraries, or if you’re running multiple applications at once. It’s also going to good if you find yourself working with large, complex data, and you want something responsive to enhance your workflow.

Who’s this deal for?

Coming in at under $1500, this is a great deal for anyone looking for something excellent for 1440p gaming, but sticking to a mid-range budget. For the price, you’re getting everything you need for 1440p gaming at max settings, and even a little 4K with a few setting tweaks. And as you can see, it’s currently at its best price on Amazon, well ahead of Prime Big Deal Days.

If you’re looking for an alternative for 1440p and 4K, which actually has more VRAM, but for around $200 more, check out some of the RX 9070 XT PC deals available. These are also great value for money, and well worth considering.
