Table of Contents
The recent launch of the Core Ultra Plus processors has breathed fresh air into Intel, as they have much better gaming performance than their counterparts, and this gives Team Blue a better fighting chance against AMD. So, if you were thinking of building a budget gaming PC but were skeptical about going for an Intel build, we would recommend you check out the Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus, as it has an 8% discount and is up for grabs for only $209.99.
This price tag shouldn’t burn a hole in your pocket, and looking at the reviews online, we can see that there is a big difference in the gaming output, which was the biggest setback for the Arrow Lake CPUs. Other than that, it has a low 125W TDP and comes with an NPU, which is perfect for AI workflows; however, you will need a discrete GPU to complete the package, as it doesn’t have integrated graphics.

Improved gaming performance and outstanding efficiency
Arrow Lake processors lost the battle with Ryzen 9000 processors due to a severe lack of gaming performance, even compared to their predecessors. However, these new CPUs have done a good bit to redeem Intel, and the Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus, according to online reviews, has much better gaming performance across the board, even staying ahead of the Core Ultra 7 265K.

Besides that, the productivity in AI, machine learning, media encoding, and rendering is also great, but the 265K takes the lead in this case, thanks to its higher core count and speed. That being said, they are still back to back in many regards, so for the price and despite the budget label, the 250KF Plus is an outstanding option to consider.
Plenty of longevity with the LGA 1851 platform
The LGA 1851 platform wasn’t appealing, but with these new additions that offer a well-rounded output, we think it is worth going for. The productivity was never an issue, but the competition was offering better value for money. However, with these second iterations of CPUs on the market, this platform should be a viable option for the long run, with much better offerings to be released as time goes on, such as the expected Nova Lake processors, which are said to be Intel’s answer to AMD’s X3D processors.
Is this processor worth the money?
As a standalone option, we think it is worth serious consideration as Intel has improved upon the gaming output, and the productivity is also great, allowing you to handle different workflows without any issues. However, we wouldn’t recommend that you compare it to any Ryzen processor, as they are still better, but for the price, we think the 250KF Plus is a good CPU for well-rounded performance.
