Newegg deal cuts price of RTX 5070, Ultra 7 270K Plus PC — an excellent pick for QHD gaming and creatives
Table of Contents
This brilliant Stormcraft gaming PC is currently $400 off its list price at Newegg, coming in at $1,999.99. It also comes with two game bundles, with a total of three free games, worth $179.97. But back to the PC, which is a fairly unique and balanced build for a genuinely excellent price.
What you’re getting here is an RTX 5070 graphics card paired with an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and 32GB of DDR5. That’s a configuration that’s designed to leverage more than just the QHD gaming prowess of the RTX 5070, but is creator and workstation capabilities. What’s more, this build packs a robust cooling solution in the form of a 360mm AIO and a roomy PC case for optimal airflow and thermal management. Considering that the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus has a max turbo power of 250W, and you’ll likely use all of its 24 cores for heavy workstation loads, rendering, and more, a 360mm AIO cooler makes a lot of sense here and gives you way more thermal headroom and potentially lower operational noise levels, too.
STORMCRAFT Gaming PC PHANTOM, NVIDIA RTX 5070
So who’s this PC for? Well, I’d say that if you’re after something for 1440p gaming, where you can leverage exclusive features like DLSS and MFG, it’s a winner. But it really shines in multitasking, thanks to its very high-core-count CPU. This makes it adept at streaming, creative projects, and running background applications, especially when paired with its larger 32GB of DDR5. On top of that, it makes for a much more future-facing PC than your typical Intel i7-14700F, RTX 5070 builds, which may be less expensive but leave less room for upgrades.

What we like about this Stormcraft Phantom gaming PC
High-end, well-rounded processor
With 24 cores, a 5.5GHz boost clock speed, and 36MB L3 cache, the 7 270K Plus really has it all, and is a great pick for high refresh, low latency gaming, and handling multi-core, CPU-intensive tasks.
Brilliant, but not overly expensive GPU for QHD gaming with modern features
Most RTX 5070 builds are under $2,000, making them significantly less expensive than builds with an RTX 5070 Ti. While it may have 12GB of VRAM vs. 16GB, it’s still the latest GDDR7, and it still packs 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 5th-gen tensor cores, allowing it to punch above its weight class.
The RTX 5070 has some useful features for creatives
It has more rendering power than an RTX 5060, making it a better choice for most creative workflows, and it features dedicated Nvidia 9th-gen Encoders for speedy exporting/ decoding.
Loads of RAM make it great for gaming and workstation usage
With 32GB, this PC is primed to handle more demanding game requirements, both now and in the future. It also means you’re getting way more headroom for complex creative projects, multitasking, and more.
Robust cooling is ideal for this build
As mentioned, having a 360mm AIO is a great way to go for this CPU, as if you’re truly using it for both gaming, heavy multitasking, and demanding creative workloads, it’s going to be pushed hard for sustained periods of time.
Is this PC right for you?
At this price, you’re on the upper end of what you’d want to pay for an RTX 5070 PC, in my opinion. I’d say that if you wanted to stick with Nvidia and want something with better QHD performance, with 4K capabilities, you’d be looking at around $500 more than this for an RTX 5070 Ti, 7 270K Plus build with 32GB of DDR5. RTX 5070 Ti and Intel 14th-gen options could also be viable, if less future-facing, as they’ll most likely be closer to the $2,300 mark in most cases. There’s an RTX 5070 Ti Stormcraft Phantom with this configuration for $2,499.99 right now on Newegg that’s worth checking out if this sounds appealing.
