Cobratype Venom Gaming PC – Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080

360mm AIO Liquid Cooler, 32 GB DDR5 RAM, 2 TB NVMe, Windows 11

What we like about this Cobratype Venom Gaming PC

One of the top gaming CPUs

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is widely seen as one of the very best gaming CPUs you can get right now, and it’s a great pick for the RTX 5080. It features 8 cores, 16 threads, a boost clock of 5.2GHz, and a massive 96MB L3 cache. You’ve got excellent single-core performance, and it’s not bad when it comes to multitasking as well, but it’s the gaming performance that really sets it apart from the competition. Thanks to the huge L3 cache, frame latency is massively decreased, which enhances gameplay significantly, especially at higher framerates.

An amazing card for 4K gaming

The RTX 5080 is one of the best graphics cards for 4K gaming, and it comes in at significantly less than the RTX 5090, making it a popular choice for many. This card is built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, which boasts impressive improvements, including faster and higher bandwidth GDDR7 VRAM, advanced AI capabilities, and better overall efficiency. In terms of performance, you can expect to play even demanding titles in 4K with ray tracing and hit high framerates, especially if you use new features like DLSS 4 and MFG to assist. Overall, a brilliant card for gaming.

Loads of RAM and storage

You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 RAM in this build, which is great for gaming and running loads of applications at the same time without slowdowns. There’s also a large 2TB SSD, which will be more than enough to house a big gaming library, alongside all your other files.

How will this PC perform?

We’ll use our RTX 5080 review to give you an idea of what to expect in terms of gaming performance at 1440p and 4K, with and without ray tracing enabled. Cyberpunk 2077, a particularly demanding title, was playable at 151fps/ 1440p, 68fps with ray tracing, and 72fps/ 4K, 35fps with ray tracing. Doom Eternal on ultra settings was playable at 426fps at 1440p, 295fps with ray tracing, and 265fps at 4K, and 191fps with ray tracing. And with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, it managed 251fps at 1440p, 163fps with ray tracing, and then 138fps at 4K, and 91fps with ray tracing. Of course, when you add DLSS and MFG into the mix you get serious leaps in performance. For example, with Shadow of the Tomb Raider, with 4K ray tracing and DLSS performance enabled, we saw it reach 181fps.

Who’s this deal for?

Coming in at $2,449.99, this is actually a very well-priced gaming PC given that it has a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and a decent amount of RAM and storage. It’s the type of PC that can be used for heavy-duty creative work, like 3D rendering, and productivity, but it’s best used primarily for gaming in 4K. Pair this with a good QD-OLED 4K monitor to really showcase what this can do at its best.
