GIGABYTE AORUS SUPREME 5 Gaming Desktop PC – GIGABYTE RTX 5080

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, , 64GB DDR5 RAM, 2TB Gen5 NVMe SSD, Windows 11 Home, Black

What we like about this Gigabyte Aorus Supreme 5 gaming PC

Great 50-series graphics card for 4K

The RTX 5080 is one of the best graphics cards for very high fps 1440p and excellent 4K gaming performance. It features substantially more cores than the likes of the RTX 5070 Ti, coming in at 10,752, and also has a large 256-bit bus, and 16GB of faster and higher bandwidth GDDR7 VRAM. It has the edge over the RTX 4080 as it’s built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, which has significantly improved AI capabilities and features such as MFG and DLSS4 to dramatically enhance gaming performance.

Incredible gaming processor

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is arguably the best gaming CPU available right now, especially for the money. It features 8 cores, 16 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.2GHz, and a massive 96 L3 cache, which is designed to store significantly more data for much faster access when gaming. While some of the Intel CPUs may be preferable for multitasking or heavy productivity, this CPU excels when it comes to reducing frame latency and ensuring overall smooth gaming performance at higher fps. It’s an excellent CPU to pair with the RTX 5080.

A huge amount of RAM and storage

This build has a whopping 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and a large 2TB SSD. Interestingly, it’s a Gen5 SSD, which is not at all common with prebuilds. This means you’re getting access to some of the fastest read/ write speeds you can get, which not only drastically improves workflows but also has a very positive effect on gaming performance, too, specifically loading assets, boot times, and making in-game cutscene transitions much smoother.

How will this PC perform?

You can read our full RTX 5080 review for an in-depth look at how a typical 5080 performs at 1080p, 1440p, 4K, and with ray tracing; however, to give you an idea, you can expect it to easily get over 100fps at 4K with most games and hit over 60fps at 4K with ray tracing, too. For more demanding titles, like Cyberpunk 2077, you’re looking at around 72fps at 4K and 35fps with ray tracing, from our testing. You should also expect very big jumps in performance when you use DLSS. We saw Shadow of the Tomb Raider go from 91fps, 4K, with ray tracing to 181fps with DLSS performance.

Who’s this deal for?

This build is a very high-end option with top-tier components, making it great for those who want the best of the best when it comes to more than just the GPU and CPU. At this price, it’s actually very competitive, too, especially given that it has 64GB of RAM, a 2TB Gen5 SSD, and more. For those looking for something great for 4K, and also something that could easily be used for content creation and other heavy-duty tasks, this deal is a real winner.
