Newegg has axed the price of this overclocked RTX 5090 by 8% in this deal
Table of Contents
The RTX 5090 is the king of graphics cards, as it stands at the top and holds the title of the best graphics card. That being said, if you’ve been eyeing it since its release but haven’t been able to grab one, that is understandable, as the launch was plagued with issues, and its price tag doesn’t make buying it any easier.
However, we spotted the MSI Ventus RTX 5090 OC on sale on Newegg, with its price reduced by 8%. The original price of this powerhouse was $2,949.99, but with this offer, you can grab it for $2,699,99. We’ve also reviewed another MSI RTX 5090, of whose performance we’ll showcase to give you an idea of just how powerful this card is.

While we haven’t reviewed this specific card, we have tested and reviewed the MSI RTX 5090 SUPRIM SOC, and its performance was extreme to say the least.
Gaming
We paired it with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and ran a couple of titles. It easily delivered 110 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K ultra settings. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle saw 190 FPS while CS2 blazed past with 311 FPS. So, it isn’t surprising that this GPU has excellent 4K output, but to put some stress on it, we enabled ray tracing (overdrive) on Cyberpunk 2077.
Doing so, saw the FPS drop to 33 FPS, which isn’t as bad when you compare how the other fared, churning out single digits and not even being able to cross 20 FPS. So, we leveraged DLSS 4 and MFG (4X) and saw the frame shoot up to 293 FPS. To put that into perspective, this is a straight 159% performance increment, and regardless of what you put in front of this GPU, it will make quick work of it.

Synthetic
Its synthetic performance was at a level that no other GPU could even come close to. In Port Royal, it managed 38,424 points and the closest competitor was the ROG Astral RTX 5080, which delivered 22,594 points. In AI workloads, it churned out 47,477 points in the single precision test, 70,236 points in the half precision test, and 35,090 points in the quantized.
What was surprising though is that in the last test, the RX 9070 XT delivered 30,662 points, being the only GPU to come relatively close to the 5090.
Should you get this GPU?
If you’re not concerned about the price tag and want to experience the ultimate performance that money can buy, you should definitely consider this deal. While even with the discount, it isn’t all that cheap, still, saving a couple of hundred dollars is better than paying full price.
