The Intel Core Ultra 7 265K has been in the sales a fair bit recently, and at its reduced price, it’s certainly more appealing from a price-to-performance perspective than it was at launch. The card itself is good for gaming, productivity, and creative work, and surprisingly efficient too. This CPU is best placed in more mid-range builds and is going to be good when paired with a GPU that’s capable of QHD gaming at high settings and frames per second.

The motherboard from the folks at ASRock is a real winner, too. It’s a Z890 board, which is one of the very latest designed to be compatible with the LGA 1851 socket. What I like about this is that it’s got everything you need for a high-performance build, should you wish to pair it with speedy Gen5 NVMe SSDs, DDR5 RAM, or a powerful GPU with PCIe 5.0 connectivity, but it’s not overkill. This is the type of board that’s ideal for mid-range builds, that you may want to upgrade on in the future. It’s also a great-looking mobo if I do say so myself.
