MSI Infinite RS AI Gaming Desktop: Intel Ultra 9 285K

Geforce RTX 5090 LC, 64GB DDR5, 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD, Liquid Cooling, WiFi 7, VR-Ready, Windows 11 Pro: 2NVZ9-1291US

What we like about this MSI Infinite RS AI gaming PC

Top-tier graphics card

The RTX 5090 is a powerhouse for gaming, content creation, and AI-related workloads. It’s built on Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture, which offers dramatic improvements in AI, ray tracing, and more. It boasts a huge 21,760 CUDA cores, which roughly doubles the size of the RTX 5080, and it also doubles down on GDDR7 VRAM, too, coming in at 32GB. That’s loads of VRAM that can easily handle demanding textures, resolutions, and more, making it great for 4K and 8K gaming. This GPU can essentially handle anything you can throw at it and is the best graphics card on the market right now.

Very high-end Intel processor

While the X3D models are often found paired with RTX 5090s, on the whole, they’re better for gaming than they are for hybrid users. The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K is a great processor to go for if you plan on using this gaming PC for productivity and creative work, as well as gaming. It boasts a very high core and thread count of 24 and 24, a large 36MB L3 cache, and a very fast 5.7GHz boost clock speed. On top of that, it’s also got a dedicated NPU with 13 TOPs, which is designed to handle AI workloads and improve overall efficiency when using AI tools.

64GB of DDR5 RAM, MSI Liquid Cooling, and four aRGB fans

While having this amount of RAM may be overkill for standard gaming setups, it will come in very handy if you’re working with numerous intensive applications at once or have loads of tabs open at the same time. Again, this is a great feature for hybrid users, but for gaming, it’ll also help with handling heavily modded titles or large open-world games with massive asset libraries.

As expected with an MSI build, you’ve got its own cooling system here. It’s a 360mm liquid CPU cooler, which provides excellent cooling for the Intel Core Ultra 9-285K, and comes equipped with four MSI fans with aRGB, designed to keep your system running at its best, and also give a nice bit of visual flair, too.

Large SSD

Finally, you’ve got a large, high-speed 2TB NVMe SSD, which is more than enough storage for a large gaming library, plus your other files. It’s fast enough that you’ll be able to enjoy shorter boot times and loading speeds, too.

Who should get this deal?

Much like with Corsair, Alienware, Gigabyte, and more, MSI builds generally have a higher price point than some of the other PC builders on the market, simply because many of its own high-end components are used in the final product. What that means, though, is that you’re getting exceptional build quality, alongside incredible performance, and very high-end design, too. This PC is one of the more expensive options out here, but if you’re going for something seriously top tier, that’ll tick all the boxes, it’s worth the investment if you have the budget.

How will this PC perform?

We can use our MSI Suprim RTX 5090 OC graphics card review to give you a sense of what to expect with this PC when it comes to gaming performance. First off, with Cyberpunk 2077 at ultra settings, pure rasterization, it was able to get 110fps at 4K, and 60fps at 4K with ray tracing. Doom Eternal at ultra settings saw 387fps at 4K, and 269fps with ray tracing. And finally, AC Mirage was playable at 149 fps at 4K at ultra settings. This is all without DLSS 4 and MFG, which seriously boosts fps higher. Overall, it significantly outperforms the RTX 5080, which, for reference, can get around 31fps at 4K with ray tracing on ultra settings with Cyberpunk 2077, making the 5090 practically twice as powerful in some respects.
