What we like about this LG Ultrafine 4K monitor
It’s easy to see why this is a popular option, with over 1000 purchases on Amazon in the past month, as it ticks a fair few important boxes for a budget-oriented 4K monitor. This is more of a general usage, everyday display, for those who want something high resolution, but don’t really need anything with professional-level color or gaming prowess. It’s bright, coming in at 300 cd/m², which isn’t always the case with more affordable monitors, and makes it good for well-lit environments. Obviously, its 4K resolution on a smaller 27-inch display makes everything better, from watching movies to reading text, and its IPS, too, which helps with visability from different viewing angles. Color-wise, it’s not bad either, as it has 90% DCI-P3 coverage. Professional monitors have over 95%, but this is still good and better than your standard 100% sRGB offerings. It’s a clean-looking monitor, too, with very narrow bezels, a stylish stand with tilt functionality, and a small footbase to give you some more desk space.
Some considerations before buying
So this monitor has to scale back in some areas, in order to keep the price a bit more affordable. A couple of things that stand out are its relatively high response time of 5ms and its lower HDR level. Its response time is unlikely to be a huge deal, unless you wanted to use this monitor for gaming, but in all honesty, we think that it’s rare that would be a common scenario. It’s HDR10 ready, which means it can accept and process an HDR signal, but its lower contrast ratio indicates that it’s not going to be the best for showcasing HDR content at its best. For that, you’ll need to up your budget and start looking at mini-LED, OLED, and QD-OLED options instead.
Is it the best time to buy?

As you can see from the graph above, it is indeed a good time to grab this monitor at practically its lowest ever price since last year. On top of that, it’s actually quite a rare deal, too, since this monitor is often hovering around its list price of $249.99 and has only really dropped a handful of times in 2025.
