If you’re looking for an RTX 5090 gaming PC for a great price, then this Newegg deal is well worth your time. This Zotac MEK gaming PC is now $1,100 off, bringing its price down from $4,999.99 to $3,899.99. That’s still a big chunk of cash, but it’s also on the more affordable end when it comes to general RTX 5090 prebuild prices. Considering it features a powerful AM5 Ryzen processor, very high-speed 6400MHz DDR5 RAM, and a large 2TB SSD, we think it’s great value at its current price.

What we like about this Zotac Mek gaming PC

Top-tier graphics card

Obviously, the big standout here is this PC’s graphics card, which is the powerful RTX 5090. This card is the top offering from Nvidia and boasts a massive 21,760 CUDA cores, which is around double the amount of the RTX 5080, for reference. It also has the most VRAM out of the 50-series, coming in at 32GB of next-gen GDDR7, allowing it to handle very demanding textures and resolutions. It’s great for both 4K and 8K gaming, but it’s also very adept when it comes to AI tasks and workloads. That’s largely down to the 5th-gen Tensor cores, higher AI TOPS than previous generations, and faster memory combined with a huge 512-bit bus. Overall, a complete powerhouse for gaming, very demanding creative tasks like 3D rendering, and more.

Powerful AMD processor and cost-effective

The Ryzen 7 9700X is still one of the best AM5 processors you can buy, despite it being released back in August 2024. We often see it paired with the best graphics cards on the market, and we often see it featured in the more affordable RTX 5090 gaming PC builds. This processor is similar to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, only without the active 3D v-cache. It has 8 cores, 16 threads, a high boost clock speed of 5.5GHz, and a decent-sized 32MB L3 cache. In our review, we found it to have very strong single-core performance, which makes it ideal for gaming, but it’s also a good processor for video editing and other tasks. While the 9800X3D would be a better choice for the RTX 5090, in our view, this is still a good option that helps keep this Zotac gaming PC much more accessible from a price perspective.

Excellent RAM and storage

You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 RAM here, with memory speeds of 6400MHz, which is up there with some of the fastest you can get. This amount of RAM is ideal if you’re playing large open-world games, using loads of applications at once, or having a ton of tabs open. For the storage, you’ve got a Gen4 SSD that’s 2TB. This is what we’d say is the ideal size for most people, and will allow you to store around 15 AAA titles and keep roughly 500GB free for other files.

Compact design

This is one of the smaller gaming PC from Zotac, and we think it looks brilliant with its neat cable management, RGB lighting, and glass panels allowing for an unobstructed view into the machine itself.

How would this PC perform?

We’ll use our MSI Surpim RTX 5090 OC graphics card review to give you a general idea of how this PC will perform from a gaming perspective, but in short, it should excel at 4K with ray tracing at high fps, and depending on the game, this could get triple digits easily. Cyberpunk 2077 on ultra settings with ray tracing enabled is a very demanding game to run, and this 5090 was able to get 60fps at 4K. For Doom Eternal, another great-looking game, which is best played at very high frame rates, was playable at 149fps, 4K with ray tracing enabled. AC Mirage, a title that’s quite reflective of most AAA games, was playable at 149fps at 4K.

Who’s this deal for?

Coming in at $3,899.99, this is one of the more affordable RTX 5090 gaming PCs on the market, and that’s largely down to its choice of CPU, which is good, but not as good as an X3D processor for gaming. That being said, it’s more the sufficient for the RTX 5090, and will be able to handle pretty much anything you throw at it. We’d say this gaming PC would be great for those planning on using it primarily for 4K gaming, instead of content creation. While it will be good for that, you’d be better off with a different, high-core and thread-count processor, perhaps one with a dedicated NPU, like some of the latest Intel Core Ultra series options.
