Gaming performance
For our gaming tests, we go for Cyberpunk 2077 and Days Gone as they are two of the most demanding games out there, but we run these titles at 1080p low settings to put the maximum strain on the CPU. Despite that, the 7600X didn’t show any issues in keeping up with the 4070 Ti Super as we got 295 and 236 FPS, respectively.
What this shows is that, just because it is an entry-level processor, it doesn’t mean it’ll have poor gaming performance; it is capable of being used with mid- and high-end graphics cards without any issues. That being said, if you plan on playing games at 4K, then most of the weight will be pulled by the GPU, meaning more breathing room for the CPU.
Synthetic performance
Synthetic testing is done to simulate different workflows and levels of intensity. We ran CPU-Z, Cinebench, Geekbench, Blender, and other tests, but we’ll focus on Cinebench as it is one of the most challenging tests for a CPU, and you can read more details in our in-depth 7600X review.
The single-core score of this processor in CB R23 was 1,923 points, which is pretty good and means that it should deliver good gaming out, which we’ve already seen. On the other hand, the multi-core score was 13,729. While these numbers will definitely pale in comparison to the latest processors, we need to keep in mind the budget nature of this CPU and the value you’re getting from this deal.
That being said, for most workflows, you shouldn’t have any issues with this processor, but you will definitely see issues when server-level tasks come along, which this CPU isn’t built for.

Should you get this deal?
According to Camelcamelcamel, the lowest price for this processor is $169.23, but we reckon it hasn’t been updated yet, as right now you can get it for $160.76. While this processor didn’t cost as much to begin with, with a massive 46% discount, it is a steal right now, and it will also make it easier to migrate to the AM5 platform, which has plenty of other offers to upgrade to in the future.
