ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2025) Gaming Laptop – RTX 5060
What we like about this ASUS ROG Strix G16 gaming laptop
Quality laptop GPU for 1080p
The RTX 5060 mobile is a great entry-level 50-series card for laptops that boasts a significant improvement on the previous generation. It features 3328 cores, 104 TMUs, 48 ROPs, a 128-bit bus width, and 8GB of GDDR7, making it good for 1080p gaming, AI workloads, and content creation.
Impressive Intel processor
This laptop features a 14th Gen Intel CPU, the i7-14650HX, which has 16 cores, 24 threads, a 5.2 GHz boost clock speed, 55W TDP, and a large 30MB L3 cache. It’s a pretty impressive processor for both gaming and productivity, and should serve you well if you find yourself doing any heavy multitasking, too.
Excellent display
ASUS often has some very impressive laptop screens, and this one ticks all the boxes you’d expect at this price point. You’ve got a smaller, 16″ display here, which is ideal for making the most out of the FHD+ resolution. It’s 16:10, too, which is good for a bit of extra height and screen real estate. That’s going to come in handy if you’ve got a few windows up at the same time, for instance. On top of that, it’s fast, but not overkill, coming in at 165Hz with a low 3ms response time. That’s good for high fps gaming, allowing for up to 165fps, which is more than enough for most people, even when playing competitively.
Stylish design
We love the design of this laptop, especially as it’s not too far out there, like some other options on the market. Take, for instance, the surrounding lightbar, which you can sync with your keyboard and other ROG peripherals. It’s a nice touch that gives this laptop a bit of visual interest, without going overboard. There’s also a stealth mode you can switch on for more professional settings, too, which turns off all the lighting for a more refined look.

Who’s this deal for?
For just under $1,200, this is a great deal for anyone who’s looking for an entry-level gaming laptop, but one that packs some very premium hardware and build quality. It’s certianly a step up from an RTX 4060, which you can sometimes find for around the same price, and as you can see from the graph above (which is yet to update, mind you), it’s beaten its previous low price thanks to this current deal.
