It looks like there are loads of deals running on big screen TVs right now over at Amazon, but this offer may hit the sweet spot for both value for money and quality. Samsung is one of the best of the best when it comes to TVs and is up there with the likes of Sony and LG, so when a deal strikes on one of its mid to higher end models, it’s well worth taking note.

This Samsung Class QLED Q80D series has now got a 30% discount, bringing its price down from $1,997.99 to $1,397.99, saving you a significant $600 on the list price.

Probably the most important thing to note here is that this a 120hz/ 4K TV, meaning you can use it for gaming on PS5 and Xbox Series X, or even potentially link it up to your gaming PC. That’s a real win at this price range, and especially at this size. It’s not OLED though and it’s also not mini-led, meaning its sort of at the lower-end when it comes to panel technology, but at this size getting that type of thing would set you back way over this amount.

Here’s a closer look at some of the key features.

Key features and highlights of the SAMSUNG 75-Inch QLED 4K Q80D Series TV

  • Backlighting precision with Direct full array: Thanks to Direct Full Array technology, Samsung increases contrast and adjusts backlight zones with major precision, allowing one to enjoy deep blacks and bright whites free of haloing effects.
  • Quantum Dot & 100% color volume: The vibrancy of colors remains real and alive thanks to quantum dot technology, allowing for more than a billion colors at all levels of brightness and preventing any washout of colors, even in bright scenes, resulting in realistic picture quality.
  • Motion with 120Hz refresh rate: Motion Xcelerator 120Hz reduces motion blur and lag so that fast-moving action is sharp and fluid, whether you’re gaming or watching a sports event.
  • Dolby Atmos & Object Tracking sound lite: Dolby Atmos generates surround sound in 3D, and Object Tracking Sound Lite adjusts the sound according to object movement on the screen for the most dynamic listening experience.
  • AI-Powered 4K upscaling: The NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor sharpens any lower-resolution content, removing noise while making details crisp for a near-4K clarity.
  • Tizen OS and with VA: Tizen OS offers a seamless interface for streaming and smart home control, incorporating built-in Alexa and Google Assistant for easy voice command.

Should you go for it now?

According to camelcamelcamel, now is as good a time as any to grab this TV, but it looks like it’s gone as low as $996 only recently. Personally, it’s still an excellent saving in its own right, however, if you’re very keen on what this TV has to offer and want to wait for it to drop below $1000, you may want to hold out at least till the Amazon Spring Sales.

Overall though, it’s a good deal even now, and one worth considering given the quality of the TV itself.
