The Ryzen 9000 processors are on a roll as the Arrow Lake CPUs couldn’t provide much competition in terms of value for money and gaming performance. However, to get the most out of processors like the Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, or even the Ryzen 7 9700X, you’ll need an AM5 motherboard.
While the upgrade to the AM5 platform is expensive, we spotted this powerhouse of a motherboard with an X870E chipset on Amazon with 10% shaved off its price. This is the MSI MEG X870E Godlike, and while it is insanely expensive even with the discount, this is probably the last motherboard you’ll ever need. In addition, we’ve reviewed it in-house as well, so you can check out its real-world performance before investing in it.

We’ve put this motherboard through its paces in our testing lab, and it showcased excellent performance. Here is what we found out. We paired the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the RTX 3090 together with this mainboard serving as the foundation. After that, we ran a handful of benchmarking applications and a couple of games.
In gaming, we played Cyberpunk 2077 and Counter-Strike 2 and got 229 and 643 FPS, respectively. While these games were running, this motherboard was able to easily supply the CPU with 69.5W and 59.7W. As for the more resource-intensive tests, such as Blender, the processor pulled 73W, and the Godlike was able to supply it without any issues.
Since this is an enthusiast motherboard, the 7800X3D most likely couldn’t push the limits of this board, but even with processors like the 9950X or the 9950X3D, you shouldn’t have any issues, as it features a robust 24+2+1 power system with a 110A smart power stage.
What this means is that it can easily supply as much power as the CPU wants without running into stability issues. However, you will need a robust CPU cooler to keep the temperature under control.
Is this deal worth it?
With the 10% discount, the price of this motherboard came down to $1,200.58 from $1,329.99. While you are saving a good amount, and this board has all the bells and whistles you’d want, this is a huge amount. In this amount, you can explore an entirely rebuilt gaming PC, but for enthusiast who want to push their PCs to the utmost limit, this should serve as an exceptional and robust foundation, able to handle anything you can throw at it.
