  • 15.6” screen: The Full HD (1920×1080) IPS screen provides sharper images and better viewing angles.
  • ChromeOS: Google’s own operating system means that all of its services including productivity apps like Google Docs and Meet come preinstalled.
  • Lightweight form factor: The Chromebook 315 weighs just 3.96 pounds, making it a suitable travel companion.
  • Integrated graphics: Featuring an Intel UHD Graphics 600, it will have no trouble running external displays and 4K video playback.
  • Play Store: You can access thousands of Android apps and games and run them natively on the Chromebook.
  • Long battery life: The Intel Celeron inside provides enough processing power while also prolonging the device’s battery life for up to 12.5 hours on a single charge.

What we think

To set expectations, the Chromebook doesn’t feature the most exotic hardware. It has a Celeron processor with only 4GB LPDDR4 memory and 32GB eMMC storage which is nowhere near the speeds of an NVMe drive. However, it doesn’t have to be when all you need is a device capable of running web browsers and spreadsheets without any hiccups. And in that regard, the Chromebook more than delivers.

If you rely heavily on Google Services, this is worth considering at the discounted price. Just make sure that you have plenty of cloud storage available because the local storage is going to run out pretty fast.
