Prime Day is in full swing and there are some massive deals to be had, especially on gaming monitors.

At the time of writing, one of LG’s best 34″ monitors is down a massive 40%, from $1299.99 to just $776.99 on Amazon.
Now that’s a huge deal, so let’s first take a look at what you get for your buck, and ultimately how we think it stacks up against the new deals price. The big question is, is it really for you?
- Nano IPS display: IPS monitors are characterized by their brightness and excellent color, but they’re also great for wide viewing angles – the perfect choice for a 34″ ultrawide.
- Nvidia G-Sync: Nvidia’s adaptive sync technology – expect super smooth, tear-free gameplay.
- 144hz refresh rate: More than enough for most gamers, and great for high frame-rate gaming.
- Curved display: Excellent for immersion, and also quite good for eye comfort too.
- Looks to kill! The design is sleek and slim enough to work well in practically any setting. This is a seriously good-looking piece of kit.
What we think
For the new price, we think it’s bang on, but for the original price, we think there are potentially other options that offer much more, like displays from Samsung or Alienware – both brands of which have discounts running on their monitors at the time of writing. Some features that make it stand out in the $700 – $800 price range are Display HDR600 and its DCI-P3 98% color gamut. In fact, even though this is marketed as a gaming monitor, we’d say it would be pretty impressive for creatives too – especially video editors.
