Sony’s WH-1000XM5 ANC headphones are back to their best price at Amazon
Table of Contents
Sony’s WH-1000XM range of headphones has been a long-standing favorite. So it’s no surprise that the WH-1000XM5 has received huge support in recent years. Despite being superseded by the XM6, the XM5 still has a tracked average Amazon price of $300 (tracked by Camelcamelcamel). But not right now. In fact, it’s the best time to get these premium ANC headphones, as the model has fallen back to its lowest price of $198.

Why we’d pick the Sony WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones
Great comfort and strong battery life
The Sony WH-1000XM5 are every bit premium wireless headphones, and that’s clear from Sony’s soft-fit leather and snug fit, which keeps comfort at the forefront. The lightweight XM5’s silent joints and stepless slider enhance the experience, and a 30-hour battery means long listening sessions are not a problem. Short on time? A three-minute charge gives three hours of playback.
Premium noise-cancellation
The XM5 uses two processors and 8 microphones to ensure its active noise cancellation is truly effective. Owners are overwhelmingly positive, and Sony’s Auto NC Optimizer automatically optimizes the active noise cancellation based on the environment you’re using the headphones in. These headphones are still regarded as among the best ANC sets available.

Excellent sound and great calling
Powered by Sony’s Integrated Processor V1, the XM5 ‘phones deliver a magnificent sonic experience, with punchy bass, brightness, and a clarity befitting the price tag. At the deal price, the value is even clearer for the audio available, and that counts for voice call clarity as well as musical enjoyment.
What to consider before you buy
Sony’s WH-1000XM headphones aren’t the only premium ANC headphones, but they are among the best. And a good benchmark for comparing with other potential models. At the deal price, you’re getting the XM5s for their best-ever price, too, well below the cost of the more recently released XM6. That’s a huge bonus for this deal, and so is the fact that the deal price is the same for any color variant you pick. We love that this deal exists outside of a sale event, but it has to work for you.
