2TB of storage for hybrid use
If you’re splitting your time between productivity, content creation, and gaming, then 2TB is ideal as it gives you enough room for a decent-sized gaming library, and various large files, like 4K footage, for instance. Having 2TB is a win nowadays, with some new game releases coming in at around 100GB, making the standard 1TB of storage not quite as ideal as it used to be.
32GB of DDR5 for smoother gaming and multitasking performance
This amount of RAM is going to be ideal if you’re looking to game without running into much in the way of microstuttering, which can occur with more demanding RAM-intensive titles, like AAA open-world games or simulators. It’s also a good amount for streaming and running background applications, which can get a little tight with 16GB.
Things to consider
In short, if you’re looking for superior gaming performance and still want something future-proof, a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5070 Ti prebuild is probably going to be your best bet at this price point. It will have a much larger L3 cache of 96MB, which will allow for very high fps and low frame latency, although the trade-off is that it only has 8 cores and 16 threads, making it good for multitasking, but not quite as adept at handling heavy, multicore workloads. This Yeyian Phoenix gaming desktop fits the bill and is under $2,400 at Newegg, and would be a good alternative to consider.
