Key features and specs of the MSI Aegis ZS2 gaming desktop
Nvidia Blackwell architecture
This build features a 50-series graphics card, which is built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell Architecture, which boasts a wide range of improvements across both performance and efficiency. It features new and faster GDDR7 VRAM for smoother gaming performance and less lag in creative applications. There are 4th-gen Ray Tracing cores for vastly improved ray tracing performance, 5th-gen Tensor Cores for AI-assisted tasks and machine learning, and features like MFG, which boost framerates and overall performance when gaming.
RTX 5070 graphics card
A brilliant option for 1440p, and even a touch of 4K, this is one of the best graphics cards you can get if you’re sticking to a mid-range budget. It can easily hit over 100fps at 1440p at max settings, and its 12GB of VRAM is a step up from the likes of the RTX 5060 TI 8GB, making it better for handling moderately demanding creative workloads, too. Ryzen 9 7900X
This CPU is a very good alternative to the popular Ryzen 7 7800X3D, especially if you’re going for something that’s more suitable for multitasking, but without sacrificing single-core and gaming performance. It has 12 cores and 24 threads, a very high boost clock speed of 5.6Ghz, and a very large 64MB L3 cache. It’s a great pairing with the RTX 5070 and ideal for hybrid users. 32GB of RAM
The ideal amount of RAM for most builds, without being overkill or overly expensive. This is DDR5, so it’s around twice as fast as DDR4, allowing for an overall snappy and responsive experience, better multitasking, and improved handling of RAM-intensive tasks, such as open-world gaming and demanding creative applications.
Large SSD
You’ve got a 2TB SSD, which is more than enough storage for most people, and can be filled with both large AAA games and 4K video footage without filling up too quickly.
Other features
There’s an impressive MSI liquid cooling solution in this build, WIFI 7 connectivity for speedy online gaming and streaming, and customizable lighting to give it a touch of visual flair. It also comes with a keyboard and mouse, so all you need is a monitor to get started.

Alternatives to consider
The only gripe with the RTX 5070 is the amount of VRAM you get for the price, coming in at 12GB. 16GB is going to be preferable if you want something that can handle more detailed textures, ray tracing, and higher resolutions, in addition to being better for more complex creative tasks, such as 3D rendering. An RTX 5070 Ti 16GB would be the step up from this, and builds can be found at around $2000 to $2300 in most cases, depending on the brand.
