The discount on this powerful RTX 5090, 285K gaming PC is even making me consider buying it
Table of Contents
The RTX 5090 is the most powerful graphics card on the market right now, but that doesn’t mean much if you can’t get your hands on it, as there is still limited stock available and at eye-watering prices. So, the next best thing is to get a prebuilt gaming PC that has the RTX 5090 because everything that comes with it would complement it, and that’ll be worth the money as you won’t have to pay more to a scalper and get to experience what the best hardware out there has to offer.
That being said, we spotted this HP OMEN 45L gaming desktop that features the RTX 5090 paired with the Core Ultra 9 285K. This is the best processor Intel has to offer right now, and this whole package has a 23% discount. So, it’ll set you back by $4,579, while originally it is priced at $5,962.49, meaning with this deal, you’re saving $1383.49.

What top dollar gets you
Here is what spending $4,579 will get you.
Core Ultra 9 285K

We’ve tested and reviewed the Core Ultra 9 285K, and in terms of energy consumption and multi-threaded output, Intel made decent improvements. Paired with the RTX 4070 Ti, it managed to deliver 267.30 points in Blender Monster, 216 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077, and 41,536 points in the Cinebench R23 multi-core test. For comparison, the 14900K and 9950X managed 39,973 and 40,938 points in the same test.
So, the average power consumed during testing was 233.5W, but during Furmark 2 stress testing, it ramped up to 236.7W, which is much better than what we’ve seen with the previous generation of Intel flagship processors. Despite the stress test running for 30 minutes, the temperature only rose to 84°C, which isn’t a lot considering the calibre of this CPU, and we used the Corsair Elite LCD Capellix 360mm to keep it.

The neat aspect is that this prebuilt behemoth also features a 360mm AIO cooler, so you shouldn’t worry about the 285K thermal throttling.
RTX 5090
The RTX 5090 can make quick work of any task or game you put in front of it, and it can easily churn out high FPS natively at 4K. However, given its 32GB GDDR7 VRAM and the hardware it is packing under the hood, its DLSS 4 and MFG performance is also at another level compared to the other 50-series cards.
In Cyberpunk 2077, it delivered 124 FPS at 4K high settings, and in Starfield, it delivered 89 FPS. These figures are taken from reviews available online since we haven’t tested it ourselves, but this is just to give you an idea of what it is capable of. So, you should get the best possible experience with this hardware.
Memory and storage
This gaming PC features 64GB of Kingston Fury DDR5 RAM running at 5,600 MT/s and 2 TB of NVMe storage. This should be more than enough for work and gaming, and you can always increase it but 64GB RAM is overkill for gaming but you can never have too much storage.

Is this deal worth it?
If you have the money to spare and want to experience what spending top dollar gets you, this deal is worth it, as it has everything you expect from the ultimate PC build. This rig should last a very long time, as people are still using their 1080 Ti, so the RTX 5090 shouldn’t become obsolete in the next 10 years.
That being said, it is a heavy investment, but with that, you’re getting the best possible performance, so it is a valid trade-off.
