Ever since its release, the RX 9070 XT has been on a roll, and with the recent driver update, it outperformed the RTX 5070 Ti, further solidifying its already solid position in the market. That being said, while its MSRP is $599, third-party variants were significantly higher, which isn’t unusual.

So, if you were looking for an opportunity to grab an RX 9070 XT for less, the time is now, as the Sapphire Pulse RX 9070 XT is on sale even before Prime Day officially begins. It has a 5% discount on it, which has dropped its price from $799.99 to $739.99. While we haven’t reviewed this exact model, we have reviewed the ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT OC, which delivered exceptional performance.

Sapphire Pulse AMD RX 9070 XT

Gaming Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6, AMD RDNA 4, 11348-03-20G

RX 9070 XT performance

A graphics card as good as this deserves to be paired with the best gaming processor. So, we paired the Ryzen 7 9800X3D with this GPU, and the best practice is to use the best components to see how they perform.

Gaming performance

We were thoroughly impressed by the gaming performance of the RX 9070 XT as we ran various titles at 1080p, 1440p, and 4 K resolutions. For example, we got 177, 131, and 75 FPS in F1 24, and for comparison, the RTX 5070 managed 136, 95, and 52 FPS. This is a significant performance difference, and across all titles, we saw the 9070 XT having the upper hand.

There were also some titles in which the RX 9070 XT came close to the RTX 5080 at 4K. For example, in AC Mirage, we achieved 98 and 106 FPS, respectively, while in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, the Team Red champion managed 100 FPS, while the 5080 managed 96 FPS.

So, this graphics card has excellent performance and value for money, and regardless of the titles or resolution you’re playing at, you shouldn’t experience any issues.

Synthetic performance

When it comes to synthetic performance, we saw great improvements in ray tracing and AI output. In Port Royal, a test used to gauge a GPU’s ray tracing output, the 9070 XT managed 18,086 points while the RTX 5070 trailed behind with 14,379 points.

On the other hand, in the single-precision, half-precision, and quantized AI tests, we got 35,496, 48,671, and 30,662 points. The RTX 5070 delivered 29,790, 52,506, and 23,186 points in the same three tests. So, both cards took home some victories, but the RX 9070 XT remained the better option out of the two.

So, if you’re a content creator or a professional in another field, this GPU shouldn’t disappoint, regardless of whether you’re using it for gaming or work.

Is this deal worth it?

The original price of this graphics card is $799.99, but with this deal, you can get it for $739.99. On the other hand, it’ll cost you much more if you get an RTX 5070 Ti, but as we’ve seen, the 9070 XT has much better performance and value, and with the driver update, you should get better gaming output than the RTX 5070 Ti.

So, not only are you saving more cash, you’re getting better output in the process, and we’d highly recommend going for this graphics card if you’re building a new PC or simply looking for an upgrade.
