What we think of this Samsung T7 2TB portable SSD deal
At PC Guide we’re of the opinion that you can never have too much storage. For some of us, that can be as simple as adding an extra NVMe SSD into the designated slot on our PC, but for those who need versatile storage across several devices and locations, an external and portable SSD is the way to go.
Samsung has been making some of the most popular SSDs for many years, and the T7 shows us why. This model may not come with jaw-dropping speeds, but the 1,050/1,000MB/s read/write speeds on offer should be more than sufficient for most, and is happy handling large files like Ultra High Resolution (4K 60fs) videos. The added benefits of shock and drop resistance protect it from the inevitable knocks and bumps of life on the road, and built-in security encryption and thermal management keep your files safe too.
The graph above shows the tracked price of the T7 over the last year, and we can see the effect of the worldwide SSD price rise reflected in the cost of this product earlier this year.
