INNOCN 40 Inch 5120 x 2160p Ultrawide Monitor
What we like about this Innocn 40-inch monitor
Ultrawide, but high-resolution
You’ve got 5120 x 2160p resolution here, which is 5K resolution with an ultrawide aspect ratio. Confusingly, it’s often named 5K2K or WUHD, but it’s basically like a 4K monitor with some extra added on the sides. This helps preserve the picture quality and clarity on ultrawide screens, making them ideal for professional creative work and productivity.
Large 40-inch screen
This is an excellent size if you find yourself working with multiple windows, and it is ideal for video editors in particular. What we especially like about this monitor is the fact that it’s not curved, as this makes it suitable for graphic design work, where a flat screen is beneficial, as it does not distort your sense of proportions.
High refresh rate
You’ve got a 100Hz refresh rate here, which will be good for editing video at high fps, and should also make any onscreen movement, like scrolling and navigating, look quite fluid, too.
Excellent color
This monitor has 135% sRGB and 106% DCI-P3 color, both of which are very good for editing professionally. Typically speaking, for professional usage, a DCI-P3 percentage of over 95 is recommended. It also has a delta E<2 color accuracy rating, which means the difference is so small that it’s practically indistinguishable.
Bright and HDR ready
This screen has decent 350 nit brightness, which doesn’t hold a candle to the likes of some of the upper-end ASUS ProArt displays, but is still good enough to use in well-lit rooms and showcase HDR content quite well.
FreeSync Premium
What’s good to see here is that this monitor features some form of adaptive sync technology, which makes it usable for gaming. What this means is that this monitor can sync its refresh rate to the GPU’s framerate, which helps reduce screen tearing and keep on-screen motion smooth. However, FreeSync Premium isn’t as good as Premium Pro when it comes to HDR gaming, so keep that in mind when considering this monitor.
USB-C 65W charging
Using this feature, you can connect your laptop to this monitor and charge it at the same time, which drastically reduces desk clutter.
Who’s this deal for?
If you’re looking for something great for productivity, video editing, and content creation, then this is a great option to go for. We’d say for gaming, it’s decent, but it wouldn’t be our first choice. We’d say you’re much better off with something WQHD, QD-OLED, with a higher refresh rate and a higher level of adaptive sync technology, too. But if you’re primarily using this for work, and your secondary use is gaming from time to time, it’s a good monitor to go for, especially at this price.
