What we like about this Skytech Gaming Shadow PC
A very good value 50-series GPU
The RTX 5060 Ti, we think, is the best graphics card to go for if you’re trying to keep costs down, but still want something good for 1080p and 1440p, and a notable step up from the 8GB RTX 5060. Its MSRP is $429, which is pretty reasonable, considering it has 4608 cores, 16GB of new and improved GDDR7 VRAM, a 128-bit bus, and a pretty fast 2572 boost clock speed. It’s also a good upgrade if you’ve been using either a 30 or 40-series graphics card, as you’ve got access to new features like DLSS 4 and MFG, both of which can dramatically improve performance and keep everything running smoothly, too.
Excellent ‘mid-range’ Intel CPU
The Intel i7 14700F is a brilliant CPU for gaming, multitasking, creative workflows, and much more. It boasts 20 cores, 28 threads, a very high boost clock speed of 5.4GHz, and a good-sized 33MB L3 cache, all of which make it a preferable option to some of the mid-range X3D alternatives, which may be better for gaming performance, but aren’t as suited to hybrid usage. Overall, a great CPU, especially considering the overall price of this build.
Appropriate amount of storage and RAM
This build doesn’t go overboard with RAM or storage, which is good as it helps keep costs down. You’ve got 16GB of DDR5 RAM here, which is good for multitasking, running applications at the same time, and even some open-world or heavily modded games; however, you may want to upgrade in the future if needed. Storage is decent, coming in at 1TB, which is enough to have around 8 large AAA games, alongside the rest of your files.
How will this PC perform?
We’d recommend checking out our review of an ASUS RTX 5060 Ti to get a more in-depth understanding of how this PC should perform, but here are a few highlights to give you an idea. In short, at 1080p, it easily hits over 100fps at ultra settings in games like Cyberpunk 2077, dropping down to a decent 52fps with ray tracing enabled. 1440p performance is also pretty impressive without ray tracing enabled, coming in at 78fps with Cyberpunk 2077, and a respectable 32fps with ray tracing. This is one of the most demanding games to run, so you can expect much better performance with other titles. For example, Doom Eternal saw an impressive 162fps at 1440p with ray tracing. When it comes to DLSS, we see massive leaps in performance, too. For example, F1 24 went from 69fps at 1440p to 102fps with DLSS.
