Gaming performance
To test its gaming performance, we ran Cyberpunk 2077 and Days Gone at 1080p low settings. These titles were notoriously demanding, but lowering the graphics settings puts more strain on the CPU to keep up with the GPU, and if it can’t, it results in a CPU bottleneck.
In Cyberpunk 2077, we got 325 FPS with 1% lows of 229 FPS, and Days Gone ran with 292 FPS with 156 FPS in 1% lows. What this means is that this processor was easily able to complement the processing power of the 4070 Ti Super, and the 1% lows showcase that even in the most challenging scenarios, this pairing managed to deliver high FPS.
Synthetic performance
To gauge the synthetic performance, we ran a handful of benchmarking applications, but we’ll take the example of Cinebench R23, as that is more taxing. In the single-core test, the 13700K churned out 2,095 points, and the multi-core score was 30,108 points.
For comparison, the Ryzen 7 9700X, managed 2,207 and 20,184 points in the same tests, which means that the 13700K is much better for productivity.

Who’s this deal for?
This is perfect for those who want the maximum bang for their buck, as the 13700K has excellent gaming performance and productivity. Not only does it not cost a lot, but it is based on the LGA 1700 platform, meaning you can upgrade to the 13th-gen flagship and have the entirety of the 14th-generation processors as well.
So, when it comes to value for money, this processor certainly brings its A-game and, as we showcased, it has a better productivity score than some of the latest CPUs.
