Skytech Gaming Chronos 3 Desktop PC, Ryzen 7 7700X

4.5 GHz (5.4GHz), NVIDIA RTX 5070 12GB, 1TB NVMe SSD, 32GB DDR5 RAM 5600 RGB, 850W Gold PSU, 360mm ARGB AIO, Wi-Fi, Win 11

What we like about this Skytch Gaming Chronos 3 gaming PC

RTX 5070 graphics card

A great card for primarily 1440p gaming at high settings, the RTX 5070 is built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, which offers some improvements on the previous generation, such as new features like DLSS 4 and MFG, which can be used to amp up the framerates and keep things looking smooth while doing so. This card features 6144 CUDA cores, which is around 2000 fewer than the RTX 5070 Ti, 12GB of GDDR7 RAM, and a 192-bit bus. Overall, it’s bang in the middle when it comes to the 50-series, and makes for a good mid-range pick in terms of its price-to-performance ratio.

Ryzen 7 7700X

The Ryzen 7 7700X features 8 cores, 16 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.4GHz, and a large 32MB L3 cache. In terms of gaming performance, it’s impressive thanks to its higher clock speeds, and its core and thread count lend themselves quite well for productivity and multi-tasking workloads, too. Overall, a solid processor to pair with the RTX 5070, which doesn’t drive up the price of this build too high.

Decent amount of RAM and storage

You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 RAM here, with 5600 memory speeds. That’s enough RAM to prevent too much slowdown when running multiple applications at once, or playing heavily modded, asset-heavy games. It also has a 1TB SSD, which is good enough for most people and could realistically store seven large AAA games, while leaving you room for other files.

Cooling and airflow

Skytech regards its CPU cooler selection and air-flow optimized PC cases very highly, promising effective cooling and quiet operation. Its Chronos case is also very nicely designed, giving you a full view of the inner workings of this PC.

How will this gaming PC perform?

We’ll use our ASUS TUF RTX 5070 benchmarks to give you an idea of how this PC will perform at 1440p, which we’d say is its target usage, but feel free to check out the full review for 4K performance, too. Cyberpunk 2077 saw 108fps at 1440p, 45fps with ray tracing. Doom Eternal was playable at 316fps at 1440p, 212fps with ray tracing, and Indiana Jones was playable at 152fps at 1440p. 4K is possible with this card, but when you start enabling ray tracing or higher settings, the 12GB of GDDR7 can be a limiting factor.

Who’s this deal for?

Coming in at $1,599.99, this gaming PC is good value for money at its current price, and a great option to go for if you’re after something for 1440p and don’t fancy shelling out at least $400 more for an RTX 5070 Ti model, which would be better suited for lower-end 4K gaming. We’d say if you want something more for 4K gaming, an RTX 5080 is the way to go; however, these will be around $1000 more at their cheapest.
