Father’s Day is nearly here, and there are loads of deals running that we think could make the perfect gift.

What we think
First off, if you’ve ever found yourself straining your eyes when working in darker rooms or at night, then we think it’s super worth it to go for a light bar. You may have seen good old BenQ’s lightbars floating around, typically costing in and around $100. Why the premium price point? Well, they’re well made and also come with a swanky ‘dial’ which you can control the light settings with, but that amount of money can be tough to part with…
That’s where light bars like this come in. They’re super reasonable, even without the discount, and offer pretty much the same functionality. Here you’ll find touch control, stepless dimming, and you can switch between cold and warm light – the latter being easier on the eyes, and the former being good for focus.
The design here isn’t going to blow anyone away, but that’s a good thing. You don’t buy a light bar for it to be the main focus of your desktop setup, you’ll want the monitor to take that job, and we like the fact that this is quite understated.
As for the benefits, having used a light bar myself, I’d say they’re definitely worth it, especially if you find yourself working into the night, relentlessly hunting down the next best deal…over and over again…but I digress. The good thing about how they’re designed is that they angle away and down from your monitor, which reduces glare on your monitor screen. The angle also works well if you don’t happen to have a backlit keyboard, but are working in low-light conditions.
As you can tell, I’m quite the fan, and for the price, it’s a pretty easy win for a gift for Father’s Day or yourself and a solid affordable alternative to some of the big-name brands’ offerings.
