Table of Contents
We’ve spotted a solid price cut on one of CLX’s top RTX 5080 gaming PCs, which we think is well worth checking out. Right now, this CLX Set prebuild is $250 off, reduced from $3,249.99Â to $2,999.99, which is pretty good considering it packs a massive 64GB of DDR5 RAM, a large 2TB SSD, and the very top offering from Intel’s 14th-gen lineup, the Core i9-14900KF. Not only is the PC going to be great for 4K gaming, but thanks to its beefy CPU, it’ll also make short work of demanding creative tasks like 3D rendering, high-resolution video editing, and more.
CLX Set Gaming PC – RTX 5080
What we like about this CLX Set gaming PC
Excellent card for gaming and creatives
This build packs the RTX 5080, which is one of the best graphics cards for 4K gaming you can buy, and is about half the price of an RTX 5090, making it much more accessible for most people, too. It features a substantial core count of 10,752, which is around 2000 more than an RTX 5070 Ti, and boasts an impressive 16GB of higher bandwidth GDDR7 VRAM. The card also features new AI-powered enhancements, such as DLSS 4 and MFG, which allow you to boost framerates and make games run smoother, without putting too much load on the GPU. The RTX 5080 is also a great choice for creatives, especially those working in 3D rendering and high-resolution video editing. RTX 5080 has 10752 cores, 16GB GDDR7 memory, 256-bit bus, 2295/2617 MHz boost clock, 360W power draw, and 1x HDMI 2.1b, 3x DisplayPort 2.1b outputs.
Powerhouse Intel CPU
This CLX prebuild features the impressive Intel Core i9 14900KF, which is one of the best processors you can get for not just gaming, but multitasking and heavy-duty creative workflows, too. It features a massive core and thread count of 24 and 32, which blows most X3D models out of the water, and makes it incredible for multitasking. On top of that, it also has a very high boost clock speed of 5.8GHz, which is going to be good for both gaming and other CPU-intensive tasks, and it features a decent-sized 36MB L3 cache, which is pretty much in line with some of the best ‘X’ Ryzen CPUs. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for the RTX 5080, and for those who need something for more than just gaming.
Loads of RAM and a large storage capacity
CLX has decided to go all-in with the RAM in this build and has gone for 64GB of DDR5. This is overkill for most, but it’s great for running loads of applications at once without slowdown, and gives you a lot of headroom for future releases and potentially beefier system requirements. It also has a 2TB SSD, which is more than enough room for a substantial-sized gaming library.
How will this gaming PC perform?
We’d recommend checking out our full RTX 5080 review to get a very good sense of how a PC like this could perform, but here are some highlights from our testing to give you a general sense of what to expect. Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K ultra settings got 72fps, and 35fps with ray tracing. Doom Eternal got 265fps at 4K and 191fps with ray tracing at ultra settings, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider got 138fps at 4K and 91fps with ray tracing at ultra settings. With DLSS, this was boosted to 181fps, which can give you an idea of just how powerful that technology is when it comes to enhancing performance.

Who’s this deal for?
At under $3000, this is a solid deal for those who want a PC that’s both excellent for 4K gaming and creative work. It’s slightly less future-proof as its motherboard isn’t compatible wth the new Intel Core Ultra lineup, but that shouldn’t be an issue given just how impressive the 14900KF is. You can get cheaper than this build, though, but what you’ll typically find is a lower-end CPU, like a Ryzen 7 7800X3D or potentially one of the ‘X’ variants. We’d say that this PC is worth the extra spend as it’s going to be far better for heavy-duty creative work.
