Key features of this Lenovo Legion Pro 7i gaming laptop

RTX 5070 Ti mobile graphics card

The RTX 5070 Ti mobile is arguably one of the best price-to-performance graphics cards you can get in a laptop. It features 5888 cores, 12GB GDDR7 memory, and a 192-bit bus and is built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture. What that means is that you’re getting something excellent for 1440p gaming, that’s also boosted by new GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing, and 5th-gen tensor cores, and has the 50-series exclusive multi-frame generation upscaling technology, too.

Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor

This mobile CPU is often found in some of the very best gaming laptops on the market, and with good reason. It boasts a hefty core and thread count (20 and 20), which helps with demanding multitasking and multithreaded workloads, like video editing, for example. On top of that, it has a big boost clock speed of 5.2GHz and a large 30MB L3 cache, which are both excellent for high fps 1440p gaming. There’s a dedicated NPU with 13 TOPS, too, which could come in handy for any live AI tasks, like translation or video background blurring, and the CPU itself is notably efficient, helping keep this laptop cool under heavy loads and use less overall power.

16-inch OLED display

OLED screens are essentially the top dog for anyone looking for lifelike picture quality, as they have incredible contrast ratios and color. This one is 16 inches, which is a good size to make the most out of the WQXGA resolution, and has a very high 240Hz refresh rate for high fps gaming. It also has 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, which makes it incredibly well-suited for professional video editors and content creators.

Storage and RAM

This particular model opts for 32GB of DDR5 RAM, which is a great amount to have for multitasking or running demanding creative applications or games. In addition, it also features a large 2TB SSD, which can hold a vast gaming library easily, and still leave you room for other files.

Things to consider

Honestly, it’s hard to find much fault with this laptop, but you can probably get a little cheaper if you’re simply having an RTX 5070 Ti mobile as your top priority. This laptop comes in at a more premium price point as it’s packing an OLED display and a few other higher-end features, like a 2TB SSD and 32GB of DDR5. MSI, HP Omen, and Gigabyte would be some good brands to look for more affordable options, well under $2,000, but from our perspective, they’re going to be better suited to using purely for gaming, rather than content creation, for example.
