Cyber Monday has arrived, and we’ve spotted a budget-friendly gaming PC for less than $1,000 on Newegg. If you’re looking at the mid-range market, but still want a current-gen graphics card and CPU for gaming, then this is the deal for you. It’s a great time to buy a prebuilt gaming PC, as custom PC builders battle with memory price hikes.

The offer is on an IPASON Xelra Gaming Desktop PC, equipped with Nvidia’s RTX 5060 GPU and AMD’s Ryzen 5 9600X processor, now $500 cheaper on Newegg. It typically costs $1,499.00, but the current deal reduces the gaming PC to just $999.00.

What we like about this RTX 5060 gaming PC

With this Cyber Monday deal, there’s great value for money in this prebuilt machine – especially as it bags you DDR5 hardware.

RTX 5060 and 9600X combo is ideal for gaming

While these aren’t the most powerful specs you’ll find in a gaming PC, for less than $1,000, it’s a solid deal on two current-gen pieces of hardware. The RTX 5060 is a card mostly targeted at 1080p gaming, though you can push it to 1440p in plenty of titles, especially with help from Nvidia’s latest DLSS 4 tech – and Multi Frame Generation, which is exclusive to the 50 series cards. As for the CPU, we’ve reviewed the Ryzen 5 9600X, and it’s a solid, efficient chip for gaming; you can see our benchmarks below.

DDR5 RAM and room to upgrade

While we would have liked to see 32GB of DDR5 RAM in this machine, the 16GB it ships with is plenty enough for gamers right now. IPSON notes that this machine is “easily upgradeable to 64GB RAM,” so there’s plenty of room for improvement once the price of DDR5 RAM finally starts dropping – it remains to be seen how long that will be. Additionally, AMD has already told us it aims for “socket longevity” with its AM5 platform for DDR5 systems, so a CPU upgrade in future should be easy to do as well.

Likewise, the 1TB SSD in this prebuilt would be nicer if it were 2TB, but it’s not a massive deal if this is your first gaming PC – it’s enough space for a solid library of games. Plus, if you’ve already got a hard drive or SSD you’re moving over from an older PC, this is not a problem.

Why Cyber Monday is a good time to upgrade

Cyber Monday may be one of your last chances to bag a bargain before prebuilt PCs get a price rise. We’ve seen a couple of popular brands announcing price increases off the back of RAM price hikes that have already hit DIY PC builders hard. DDR5 RAM, in particular, has skyrocketed, with CyberPowerPC claiming that prices have increased by 500%. SSD prices have also been hit, although to a lesser extent, and the company has revealed systems with a 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM (the same config in this IPASON desktop deal) will be $80 more expensive from December 7.

Looking at the price of RAM kits, 16GB of DDR5 can cost you around $180-$200, with popular 32GB kits going for more than $400 at the time of writing. It’s also worth noting that GPU prices are expected to rise in the new year, too, which has been more or less confirmed for Radeon GPUs by AMD partner PowerColor.
