WD_BLACK SN1800 performance
The SSD has a read and write speed of 14,900/14,000 MB/s, and we installed it on our test bench that consisted of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and ASUS Prime X870-P WiFi. We compared it against the Kingston Fury Renegade G5 and Corsair MP600 Pro XT. However, in the 3DMark storage tests, the SN1800 remained well ahead in its performance.
It managed 4,774 points while the other two trailed behind with 4,523 and 2,949 points, respectively. It also has the lowest access time of 37, with the Kingston Fury coming close with 39s. The bandwidth was also excellent, as the SN1800 topped out at 804.32 MB/s, followed by 761.10 and 506.16 MB/s for the Kingston and Corsair SSDs, respectively.
Overall, this is the fastest NVMe SSD that we’ve reviewed, and we think that it is definitely worth considering, especially since it is on sale. 2TB storage should be enough to accommodate plenty of applications and games; however, if you think that it won’t be enough, there is a 4TB variant of this SSD as well, but that isn’t on sale.
