The ASRock X870 Steel Legend released late 2024. As usual, ASRock created something that gives top-tier performance, but scales back in some areas to keep the overall pricing more affordable. This is a motherboard for AM5 builds, but more for lower to mid-tier setups, meaning that it’ll work well with similar level CPUs for instance.
The motherboard itself boasts some high-end features, including WiFi 7 connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4, a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, a number of effective heatsinks, and more. It also happens to be one of the better looking motherboards on the market, featuring tasteful RGB and a stylish white aesthetic.
In our review, we were impressed by its price to performance ratio, abundant USB ports, and its overclocking potential. The only mild gripes we had were its lack of EX PCIe latch and debug code display. That could make it a little tricky to handle if you’re new to PC building, but it’s not the end of the world.
