You can trust PC Guide: Our team of experts use a combination of independent consumer research, in-depth testing where appropriate - which will be flagged as such, and market analysis when recommending products, software and services. Find out how we test here.

If you’re looking for the best GPU to pair with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, we’ve got you covered right here.

The system requirements to run this game are actually fairly beefy. It turns out that normal Ray Tracing ultra-performance requires an RX 7900 XT, and an RTX 4090 is what’s recommended for full Ray Tracing. In addition, they added that you’ll need to enable DLSS 3 with Frame Generation and Super Resolution set to Performance, and after that, you’ll have 60 FPS at 4K ultra settings.

We’ve selected a few GPUs that we’ve reviewed here and tested in house that we think will be able to both handle the game, but also enhance your experience with it. Heads up, these selections aren’t too budget friendly, but we have included a mid-range option for you to consider too.

For the best gaming experience in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and other tiles, there is no better GPU than the RTX 4090. This is the most powerful GPU on the market currently, ahead of the RTX 5090 release, and when we tested it for our RTX 4090 review, it had, unsurprisingly, exceptional real-world and synthetic performance.

This graphics card has 16,384 CUDA cores, a base clock speed of 2.23 GHz, a boost clock of 2.52 GHz, and 191 TFLOPS of Ray Tracing cores. This means it has enough hardware to handle anything you throw at it without breaking a sweat.

However, the card we tested was the ROG Strix RTX 4090 OC, which has a boost clock of 2,610 MHz, which can be increased to 2,640 MHz with the OC mode. Since the cores can run at a faster frequency, it results in better performance. In addition, there is also the option of overclocking the GPU, but you shouldn’t feel the need to do so with this gaming beast.

Regarding its performance, we paired it with the Ryzen 9 7950X and ran a couple of games at ultra settings. We’ll take Cyberpunk 2077 and Microsoft Flight Simulator as examples, as they are graphically demanding titles.

The RTX 4090 doesn’t come cheap by any stretch but there’s no denying its capabilities for true 4K gaming and creativity that nothing else on the market can match. Simply put, you want the best of the best then the second-generation BFGPU delivers.

PC Guide

In Cyberpunk 2077, it managed 74 FPS at 4K, and with Ray Tracing enabled, it dipped to 43 FPS. However, with DLSS 3 enabled, it went up to 133 FPS, an increase of 90 FPS. Besides that, in MSFS, it delivered 54 FPS at 4K, and with DLSS 3, the framerates shot up to 115 FPS.

So, this GPU is more than capable of pushing 4K natively, but leveraging DLSS 3 puts it in an entirely different league, and you should be able to get good in-game results for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

That being said, if you’re making a new gaming PC, we recommend checking out the best CPUs for the RTX 4090 to ensure no CPU bottlenecks are holding it back. This is an excellent card for gaming and work, but the only downside is the hefty price tag. It can cost anywhere from $2,000 to $2,300+, making it a big investment, but it should last a good couple of years as we see some people still using the GTX 1080 Ti to this day.

The system requirements for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle recommend the RX 7900 XT for 4K 60 FPS at ultra settings. Since we’ve tested that card and the RX 7900 XTX in-house, we recommend opting for the latter as there isn’t a huge price difference, and it has better performance than the RX 7900 XT.

This GPU is powered by 6,144 Stream Processors and has a game and boost frequency of 2,300 MHz and 2,500 MHz, respectively. On top of that, it has 24GB of GDDR6 VRAM with a 384-bit interface, meaning you have plenty of memory to ramp up the in-game settings without running into low memory issues.

In addition, the 384-bit interface should also ensure that data can flow without restrictions to and from the GPU for processing.

The variant we reviewed is the ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC edition, which has a default game and boost clock of 2,395 and 2,565 MHz, respectively. With OC mode turned on, these frequencies can be increased to 2,455 and 2,615, respectively.

The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX is a stellar graphics card for 4K gaming with enough under the hood to achieve high frame rates natively. It also excels in 1440p with over 100fps in the majority of cases, and will be even stronger when factoring in FSR and Fluid Motion Frames in the future.

PC Guide

As for its gaming performance, we ran a couple of games at 4K native, which should give you a good idea about its capabilities. In Cyberpunk 2077, it managed 70 FPS at 4K; in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it delivered 107 FPS.

For comparison, we’ll look at the results of the RX 7900 XT. This card managed 62 and 90 FPS in the same two titles, so there is a clear difference in performance. Also, the RTX 4090 managed 74 FPS at 4K natively.

So, it all comes down to how much you’re willing to spend and the performance you want. If you’re playing without Ray Tracing, the RX 7900 XTX is an excellent option and costs only a little bit more than the RX 7900 XT. It makes no sense to pay more than double its amount for 4 extra FPS and get the RTX 4090.

Overall, this is a great graphics card with excellent value. With the help of FSR 3, it should be able to power through the graphical demands of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

What users say

According to Amazon reviews, the RX 7900 XTX has top-notch performance, value, and build quality. One reviewer stated: “This has more than enough memory and handles 100% everything I throw at it and runs 2 monitors with ease with space for two more directly on the graphics card.”

Best mid-range GPU for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
03
  • ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4070 OC Edition Graphics Card
  • rog rtx 4070 Ti Super PCG
Highly Recommended
Reasons to Buy
  • Top overclock among custom models
  • Super cooling solution with good capacity
  • Smart looking – chic design
Reasons to Avoid
  • Hefty and large
  • Uses the 12VHPWR 16-pin power connector
  • Far too high a price for the Strix

If you don’t want to spend a small fortune on enthusiast-level cards, we recommend the RTX 4070 Ti Super. This is an excellent card that can hold its own and push 4K in some titles, but in our RTX 4070 Ti Super review, 1440p seemed to be the sweet spot for it.

This GPU has 8,448 cores running at base and boost clock speeds of 2,340 MHz and 2,670 MHz, respectively. It also has 16GB of GDDR6X VRAM with a 256-bit interface, meaning it has powerful hardware under the hood, putting it right on the edge of the high-end category.

The system requirements of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle put the RTX 3080 Ti for 1440p and the RTX 4080 for 4K 60 FPS without Ray Tracing and 1440p with Ray Tracing. That being said, the RTX 4070 Ti Super outperforms the RTX 3080 Ti, so it should be able to run this game at 2K and get better performance with DLSS 3 enabled.

However, if you want to play with Ray Tracing enabled, you should be able to play at 1080p or even 1440p, as there isn’t a huge difference between the native 4K performance of the RTX 4080 and the 4070 Ti Super.

According to the RTX 4080 review, it managed 51 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 with ultra settings at 4K, while the 4070 Ti Super managed 44 FPS natively. So, this is only a difference of 7 FPS. With DLSS 3 and Frame Generation enabled, it should be able to play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle at FHD and QHD with Ray Tracing enabled.

It also offers better value as it costs less, but for the best gaming experience, we recommend sticking to 1440p with DLSS 3 enabled. Overall, this is a great GPU and should deliver good performance in this title and others.

What user say

According to Amazon reviews, this GPU has great value for money, performance, speed, and thermal design. One reviewer said: “Great functionality. Card comes with a splitter cable already. You don’t hear the fans until 80% duty cycle. Resolution is perfect. Cooling is optimal under full load despite being a Dual Fan model. Speed is terrific when paired with a Ryzen 7900x3d”

How to choose the best GPU for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

There are plenty of factors you need to consider before choosing a GPU, and if you’re planning on building a gaming PC, you need to factor in the games you’ll be playing. For example, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle don’t have humble system requirements, so to play it in the best settings, you’ll need high-end components that’ll cost a good amount. That being said, here are a couple of factors that should help you make an informed decision.

System requirements

A shortcut to seeing the potential GPU options for any title is to check its system requirements. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle have demanding requirements, with minimum Ray Tracing results requiring an RTX 4070. On top of that, GPU hardware Ray Tracing is required to run this title, meaning the available options won’t be very pocket-friendly.

So, checking out the system requirements gives you a gauge against which to measure, and then you can choose a GPU that fits your budget.

Usage

What you plan on using the GPU or your PC for is also a factor that can impact your decision. If you’re only buying a GPU for gaming, you can opt for a mid-range GPU like the RX 7700 XT, which, for this title, should deliver good in-game performance at 1440p.

This is unless you want the best gaming experience, in which case, the sky is the limit as you have options like the RTX 4090 and the RX 7900 XTX, which should be able to push this game at 4K with ultra settings and Ray Tracing enabled.

These GPUs cost a pretty penny but can handle gaming and other workloads, making them great options if you use one rig for both. However, consider your budget while making a decision, and it is best to operate within it.
