How we picked

For this list, we researched the market and went through several options from Nvidia and AMD. Then, we selected only those that provide the most value for money. During the selection process, we kept several factors in mind, such as price, compatibility, features, and performance.

If you want to truly enjoy what Once Human has to offer, then we’d recommend going with the RTX 4070 Super. This is one of the most powerful cards currently available in the market, and in our review, it managed to run demanding games smoothly at high resolutions.

For starters, the RTX 4070 Super boasts 12GB of GDDR6X VRAM with a 192-bit memory interface, so you won’t have to worry about running out of memory while adjusting the graphics settings. On top of that, the variant we reviewed has a base clock of 1,980 MHz and a boost clock of 2,565 MHz. The Founder’s Edition, on the other hand, has a boost clock of 2,475 MHz, which is still enough.

Now, coming down to the most important part – the performance. For our review, we tested the card in Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

In the first game, the RTX 4070 Super managed to deliver more than 100 FPS at 1440p, and the number, as expected, dropped down to 70 at 4K. However, this was still pretty impressive. On the other hand, in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the FPS remained around 80 at 1440p and 60 at 4K.

The RTX 4070 Super also performs well in the synthetic testing with strong figures in 3D Mark, Cinebench r24, and Blender 4.0.

PC Guide

We also tested the card in The Finals at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K. It managed to hit 256, 150, and 73 FPS, respectively. In short, the performance of the card was amazing, especially in the two demanding games.

Overall, the RTX 4070 Super is easily one of the best GPUs for Once Human. It features enough VRAM and is powerful enough to help you run the game smoothly at high graphical settings. However, do keep in mind that as it is a new game, you may face performance issues. These will most likely get resolved through the first few updates.

What users say

According to Amazon reviews, most users are satisfied with their purchase. One user mentioned: “This card was easy to install and setup. Works flawlessly in games I play. You don’t hear it and it stays very cool.”

  • RX 7700 XT heatsink

  • Fans of the RX 7700 XT
What We Think

The AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT confidently delivers on its promise of 60fps and above in 1440p games when maxed out but is unlikely to blow you away.

Reasons to Buy
  • Great for 1440p gaming
  • Runs demanding games smoothly
  • Can run on an affordable 550W PSU
Reasons to Avoid
  • Not a great card for 4K gaming
  • Not ideal for ray tracing

If you’re looking for a card that costs around $450, then you’d want to check out the RX 7700 XT. This is a great card if you’re only planning to play games at 1080p or 1440p. And in our review, it delivered exceptional results in several games.

To begin with, the RX 7700 XT shares almost similar specs as the first option on our list. It comes with 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM with a 192-bit memory interface. On top of that, it has 3,456 Stream Processors and a base clock speed of 1,435 MHz. To increase its performance, the clock speed can be boosted up to 2,544 MHz.

To get a better idea about what the card is capable of, we tested it in two demanding titles – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077. In the first game, the FPS stayed above 120 at 1080p and it didn’t drop below 100 even at 1440p. However, at 4K, it dropped down to 59.

The AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT features enough VRAM for today’s games with its respectable hardware as a mid-range RDNA 3 architecture card.

PC Guide

In Cyberpunk 2077, its performance was again remarkable. It managed to deliver around 122 FPS at 1080 and 79 FPS at 1440p. At 4K, we only got 36 FPS. However, the 4K performance of the card didn’t disappoint us at all as we understand that it isn’t built for 4K gaming. But it’s worth mentioning that in less demanding games, such as CS:GO and Rainbow Six Siege, the card constantly kept the FPS above 150 at 4K.

Overall, the RX 7700 XT is a great card that is capable of running several demanding games smoothly at 1440p, and you shouldn’t face any issues in Once Human with this card powering your rig.

What users say

The RX 7700 XT has overall positive reviews on Amazon. One of the reviewers mentioned: “This card has worked beautifully for everything I’ve tried. It won’t run 4k games fast, but 1080p and 1440p usually work quite well. It’s also very quiet.”

If you want a card that won’t put a dent in your bank account and will still offer decent performance, then the RTX 4060 is the way to go. This may not be the most powerful card on our list (it is a budget pick after all), but it still packs a punch in the performance department for the price it comes at. In our RTX 4060 review, we found it to be a great card for 1080p gaming.

The RTX 4060 has 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM paired with a base and boost clock of 1,830 MHz and 2,670 MHz, respectively. On top of that, it features 3,072 CUDA cores and a 128-bit memory interface. While the GPU’s clock speed can be boosted above 2,600 MHz, we won’t recommend constantly running the GPU at such a speed, as it can potentially lead to overheating issues.

The Nvidia RTX 4060 is a solid video card for 1080p and 1440p gaming at a good price point.

PC Guide

We first tested the RTX 4060 in Cyberpunk 2077, which is a pretty demanding game. At 1080p, the card managed to deliver 77 FPS, which dropped to 48 after we switched to 1440p. But in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, another resource-hungry game, we go 106 FPS at 1080p and 74 FPS at 1440p.

This means that its performance at 1440p will depend on the type of game you’re playing. However, even in games like Cyberpunk 2077, you can boost the number of FPS you’re getting by using DLSS.

Overall, the RTX 4060 is a solid GPU for those who are on a budget. It can help you run Once Human smoothly at 1080p and 1440p, though you may have to adjust the graphical settings for the latter.

What users say

The RTX 4060 has a high rating on Amazon, and most buyers are satisfied with their purchase. One of the reviewers mentioned: “It runs great and so far has handled every game I have thrown at it on ultra-high. Runs pretty cool under load. The top of the line cards are way out of my budget, but this 4060 gives me really good value.”

How to choose the best GPU for Once Human

With so many options to choose from, it can be a challenge to select the right GPU for your rig. You don’t want to end up wasting money on a GPU that costs a lot but can barely run games at high settings. So, to avoid making a mistake, here are some factors to consider before making the final purchase.

System requirements

Before getting a GPU, you need to make sure it is similar to or better than what’s mentioned in the system requirements of the game. For instance, Once Human lists the RTX 3060 or the RX 6650 XT as the recommended GPU for 60 FPS and smooth performance. This means that you need to aim for these two or something better if you want to enjoy the game to its fullest.

Budget

Budget is another important factor to consider when selecting a GPU. This, obviously, plays a big role in the selection process. For instance, if your budget is limited, your options will be too. But if budget is not an issue, then you can explore high-end cards such as the RTX 4070 Super or something better. These cards will help you run the game smoothly at high graphical settings, even at 4K.

Monitor’s resolution

Before selecting a card, make sure it will pair well with your monitor. If you own a 1080p monitor, then you won’t face any issues. But if you have a 4K monitor with a high refresh rate, you’ll need to get a high-end card that can handle this resolution. Otherwise, you either need to change your monitor or save some more money to get a better GPU.
