Nvidia has spoken. The biggest GPU producer in the world has officially announced the release date for its flagship graphic card the RTX 4090.

According to official information, the RTX 4090 will be launched and ready to buy on October 12.

This date puts the launch a little behind its usual release dates. Two years ago Nvidia launched the RTX 3090 on September 24th.

But, if anything, this only makes October one of the best months in 2022 if we sum up all the releases that are coming down in mid-October.

But let’s talk about the RTX 4090. The first of the RTX 4000 series, we know it will be the biggest and best graphics card produced so far, and we also know you are eager to see how much will it cost and how good will it be. So let’s begin.

Nvidia revealed that the starting cost for the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 will be $1.599. This price could look high but is worth noting that is only $100 more expensive than the RTX 3090 launch price, back in 2020.

And it’s $400 cheaper than the RTX 3090 Ti. This last one has to be mentioned because that’s the bar Nvidia is looking to for the new RTX 4090.

Furthermore, Nvidia and wider tech companies are aware of the current situation with the chips and have had a long time to prepare.

They’re now expected to have more control over the situation with resellers, and be able to control the rise of the prices more than with the RTX 3090 Ti.

Moving on to specs, the GeForce RTX 4090 uses the brand new Nvidia Ada Lovelace architecture to enhance the performance of rendering, graphics, AI, and compute workloads – offering (according to Nvidia) outstanding gaming and post-processing experiences.

Let me throw some numbers in here. The RTX 4090 has a 2.52 GHz clock speed, way higher than its predecessor the 3090 Ti.

The graphic card boasts 16.384 CUDA cores, supports the new 3rd generation ray tracing cores, 4th generation Tensor cores, and has 76.3 billion transistors.

If you compare that to the 28.3 billion on the Ampere GPUs, all existing technology looks like a bit of a joke (although the cost of the RTX 4090 certainly isn’t funny).

Overall, this will be the most impressive launch of October. All there’s left to do is wait for the launch date and cross our fingers in the hope that the prices don’t go up that much.

Is the RTX 4090 coming out?

Yes, and very soon indeed. The RTX 4090’s global launch is October 12 – so if you’re reading this after then it’s already here and you can see where to buy it.

How much VRAM will the 4090 have?

Among its giant specs, the RTX 4090 will have 24GB of GDDR6X, helping to make it an absolutely incredible performance provider for anyone who can afford it.
