The RTX 4090 is coming very soon indeed. We’ve been gearing up with everything we know about the new flagship graphics card, and it’s sure to make a splash for the enthusiasts wanting bleeding-edge hardware.

The graphics cards market is sure for a big shuffle this year, with RTX 4000, Intel Arc cards, and AMD’s RDNA 3 cards purported to arrive. That may make picking the best graphics card tricky when new-generation products arrive.

If you’re set on buying an RTX 4090, you’ll know you need or want it for a specific reason – or maybe just because. Particularly because you can certainly pick up a prior generation card, for example, the RTX 3090, for less.

RTX 4000 series card models

The RTX 4000 series SKUs we’re expecting this year would provide updates to the three key staples of the RTX 3000 series. While we’re expecting it to be the first to release, and available to buy, the RTX 4090 should be followed by familiarly named cards.

RTX 4090 price

The RTX 4090 will cost $1,599 in the US. We currently do not have pricing for any other regions. However, we can infer the rates from this figure.

This is $100 more expensive than the RTX 3090 was at release, which leads us to believe that the RTX 4090 could cost £1,499 in the UK. The minor price increase would seem to justify a leap in performance, although of course, you could still buy a fairly punchy fully kitted-out system for that amount.

When can I buy RTX 4090?

Wednesday, October 12 is when the card goes on sale – with an expected release time of 6am PST / 2pm BST. Stock-willing, you’ll be able to get one on launch through the links above.

How powerful is the RTX 4090?

The RTX 4090 will feature 24GB GDDR6X memory with a total of 16,384 CUDA cores and a 450W TDP. Judging by the fact that the cooler design seems near identical to the previous flagship card, this is painting a promising picture for the prowess of Ada architecture without a far greater power draw.

Is the RTX 4090 worth it?

While the RTX 4090 has yet to be released, the specs and performance shown off by Nvidia show some seriously impressive ray tracing performance and improvements over Ampere. If you want the best of the best for your machine, then the 4090 is well worth considering slotting into your motherboard next month.
