The AMD Radeon RX 7600 GPU, despite not being expressly marketed for 1440p gaming, offers a commendable performance at this resolution for many games. However, running games at ultra settings becomes a challenge due to the graphics card’s various specs, like its minimal 8GB of memory, ray accelerators, and compute units. Consequently, if you’re eyeing RX 7600 1440p gaming, you’ll find it advantageous to adjust your game settings for peak performance.
In the pool of publicly available benchmarks, the RX 7600 achieves an average of 35.5 fps at 1440p ultra settings. For games incorporating ray tracing, performance often dips below the 30 fps mark. So, while the RX 7600 is a capable card, don’t expect consistently smooth frame rates at 1440p max or even ultra settings, especially with ray tracing performance enabled.
Comparatively, the RX 6650 XT’s performance is akin to the RX 7600, suggesting that the latter offers more of a sideways progression from its predecessor rather than a substantial leap forward. Interestingly, these games also didn’t respond significantly to DLSS, NVIDIA’s upscaling counterpart. This could likely be tied to the specifics of their respective game engines.
Despite this, it’s clear that when the conditions are right, upscaling can considerably enhance the RX 7600’s performance at 1440p. This gives gamers the ability to enjoy higher-resolution gaming without having to heavily invest in high-end hardware. As more games begin to support technologies like FSR 2, the prospect of 1440p gaming on the RX 7600 becomes increasingly feasible.
