007 First Light devs recommend more than 8GB VRAM for 1080p as PC system requirements revealed
Table of Contents
007 First Light is an upcoming action-adventure game that puts you in the shoes of a young James Bond and lets you experience his origin story. The game is set to launch in the last week of May this year, and to help players get their systems ready, developer IO Interactive has shared the full PC specifications.
007 First Light system requirements for PC
| Specification | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Performance target | 1080p @ 30 FPS | 1080p @ 60 FPS |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-9500K / AMD Ryzen 7 3500 | Intel Core i5-13500 / AMD Ryzen 5 7600 |
| GPU | Nvidia GTX 1660 / AMD RX 5700 / Intel equivalent | Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti / AMD RX 6700 XT / Intel equivalent |
| System RAM | 16GB | 32GB |
| Video memory | 8GB | 12GB |
| Storage space | 80GB | 80GB |
| Operating System | Microsoft Windows 10/11, 64-bit | Microsoft Windows 10/11, 64-bit |
Based on the specifications provided by IO Interactive, you’ll need at least an Intel Core i5 9500K or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 paired with a GTX 1660 or RX 5700, along with 16GB of RAM, to run the game at 1080p with a stable 30 FPS.
The recommended requirements, which target smooth gameplay at 1080p and 60 FPS, include an Intel Core i5 13500 or AMD Ryzen 5 7600 paired with an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT. However, the recommended specs also increase the RAM requirement to 32GB. This means many players may need to upgrade their memory for the best experience. However, with memory prices rising significantly over the past few months, this upgrade won’t be as affordable as it once was.
The developers also list 8GB of GPU VRAM for 1080p at 30 FPS, and 12GB for 60 FPS at the same resolution (strangely, the 3060 Ti listed under recommended specs features just 8GB of memory). You’ll also need 80GB of available storage space. While an SSD is not listed as a requirement, it will help reduce load times. What’s worrying is that these requirements are only for 1080p gameplay. While IO Interactive hasn’t revealed specs for 1440p or 4K, we estimate you’ll need at least an RTX 3080 or RTX 4070 for 1440p, and an RTX 4080 Super or RTX 5080 for 4K.
