Display technology is always getting better, with higher refresh rate monitors coming out each and every year. 2025 has proven to be the year of 600Hz, with most major brands releasing one of these fast panels, if not overclocked to 610Hz in the case of ASUS ROG and AOC. We’ve also seen LG produce a new panel that can manage 720Hz, but only at HD (720p) resolution.

The next milestone seems to be 1,000Hz. We’ve already seen a few demonstrations of super-fast monitors like this before, but nothing available to consumers. Last year, TCL demonstrated a 4K 1,000Hz monitor, but if we’re talking about something that will actually make its way to the market, AntGamer – A Chinese esports firm – predicts 2026 is the year.

1,000Hz monitor might be available in 2026

Expectations of a 1,000Hz gaming monitor in 2026 come as AntGamer launches its latest ‘world’s first 750Hz gaming monitor’ with a fast TN panel at 1080p, named the ANT257PF. AntGamer has been active on its Weibo account regarding the announcements, noting that it is ‘collaborating with AMD’ [translated] to release a white paper and required gaming specs for 1000 FPS gaming. Right now, though, you’ll have to settle for the 750Hz ANT257PF, which boasts 66% reduced response times.

Chinese publication IT Home reports on the teased 1,000Hz monitor set for 2026, though not too much is known about it just yet. Instead, the ANT257PF is showcased in more detail, revealing that it is based on “HKC Display’s G8.6 generation Fast TN gaming panel” [translated]. The collaboration with AMD has piqued our interest; so far, this includes a technical white paper on the ‘required gaming specs’ for 1,000 FPS gaming. It’s unclear if AMD will have much involvement with the hardware.

The slide above notes games such as Counter-Strike 2 and PUBG are already compatible for 1080p 750Hz gaming, as long as you have at least a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 5080.
