There are a lot of video conferencing solutions busy talking about how many daily users they have and the latest is Microsoft Teams, who have just announced a whopping 75 million a day.
It will be interesting to see how these figures stack up once the various lockdowns around the globe begin to ease and people start heading back to their offices, but for now, if nothing else it shows the potential for this kind of tech is there in abundance.
The Verge reports that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed the figure in an investor call (which while unconfirmed, you would hope took place on Teams rather than Zoom or Meet).
The Verge also goes on to say that Nadella confirmed that Teams saw 200 million meeting participants in one day.
The potential for Teams continues to grow as it is now included in Microsoft’s recently rebranded Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) which currently has a user base around the reported 258 million subscribers.
The Seattle-based behemoth will be keen to persuade many more of those monthly payers that Teams is the way forward especially if they are already coughing up regular cash every few weeks.
The seismic growth of video meeting solutions is one nobody saw coming just a few short months ago but it is perhaps a great sing that, with a few notable issues aside, has largely stood up to the test.
