Abxylute’s One Pro now in production after smashing Kickstarter target, and “totally new” PC handheld teased

At the end of March, the handheld company Abxylute launched a Kickstarter for the pro version of its Android handheld gaming device. It easily reached its target goal on Kickstarter of $1,275, soaring all the way up to $98,234, with hundreds of units sold, which sent the unit to production.
That’s one of the updates provided by the manufacturer in its latest weekly update on Discord. It also means you can now pre-order the One Pro either through Kickstarter or their website if you missed it and are looking for a more powerful emulation and remote play machine, since it’s an Android device.
New PC handheld teased for June
It has also teased that it’s delving into a new market with a PC handheld. The banner on the site suggests the reveal will be coming in June, and likely the launch of the Kickstarter for the new device. Along with providing a chance to sign up for your email if you want to get early access.
This could be a way to compete on providing a cheap PC handheld, especially now that SteamOS is available to more devices, which could make something surprisingly good to compete with the likes of the ROG Ally or Steam Deck.
What the Abxylute One Pro has to offer
Abxylute outlines its mission to provide affordable gaming solutions without the need for spending on upgrading your hardware. That’s where the initial launch of its handheld under $250 became a decent pick for an Android base option, which leads to its new One Pro also having an MSRP of $249, with a discount to $219 during its pre-order phase.
Don’t expect it to be a powerful handheld that can run anything native. Using a MediaTek chip, it is very much a mobile device that is best suited for mobile games onboard, or utilizing the range of other software to play games through instead. Be it remote play, Cloud gaming, or emulation, that’s where the Abxylute hardware is best suited for the price and capability.
With that lower power, it offers a long battery life, with some great controls, including both gyro and hall effect joysticks for some great longevity and feel. Even then, there’s so much you can do on a lower-performance handheld, and it might be why it’s delving into PC handhelds, where it can compete and bring something more to the market.
