Key features of this MSI Gaming Trio RTX 5060 8GB OC graphics card

Eye-catching design

Unlike some more affordable GPUs, MSI has gone all-in when it comes to design aesthetics here, opting for a stunning all-white look, with Mystic Light technology. You can customize colors, patterns, and effects via the MSI Center software, and it can sync with other MSI devices and compatible products, too. Lighting effects include rainbow mode, flashing, and breathing, and it can also respond in real-time to performance or GPU temperature, too.

Impressive cooling

This card features three TORX Fan 4.0 fans, which are designed for maximum airflow coverage across the GPU’s heatsink and lower turbulence for reduced operation noise levels. They also feature ZERO FROZR technology, which halts the fans when temperatures drop under 60°C, giving you silent performance for lighter tasks, like web browsing or streaming. On top of that, you’ve got square-shaped core pipes, which are designed for maximum contact and heat capture from the GPU die. There’s a Wave Curved 4.0 heatsink, which allows for smoother airflow and more surface area for heat dissipation. It also features a reinforced backplate with thermal pads and airflow vents to allow air to pass through easily.

Blackwell Architecture

We’ve quacked on about this for a while now, and while it’s not unique to this specific card, it is a key feature of the 50-series itself. In short, Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture boasts great improvements over previous iterations. You’re getting 4th-gen Ray Tracing cores, 5th-Gen Tensor cores, higher bandwidth GDDR7 VRAM, and features like DLSS 4 and MFG, which can increase perceived framerates and make for a much smoother gaming experience.

Alternatives to consider

As always, we’d say that the 8GB of VRAM here is really the only limiter when it comes to overall gaming and creative performance. An RTX 5060 Ti 16GB has an MSRP of $429, which is not miles away from the price of this card, and will be much better at handling more demanding games at higher settings, in addition to higher resolution video editing and 3D modelling. If you’re looking for something affordable for 1080p gaming, but are also a pretty serious creative who needs something that won’t be laggy with creative applications, then consider the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB.
