Black Friday may be coming in fast, but we’re already seeing some big price drops from major brands that have hit Amazon early. This MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk motherboard has recently nosedived in price by 31%, and is reduced from $275.99 to $189.99, which is its lowest price ever. This B850 motherboard is designed with high-end AM5 builds in mind, and is packed with features that make it excellent for overclocking. For the price, it’s a great deal, and a relatively affordable foundation to build what could be an absolute beast of a gaming PC.

The MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk is an excellent price-to-performance pick for high-end AM5 Ryzen CPU builds. It features a robust 14 Duet Rail power system with 80A SPS VRM, which is excellent for power-hungry processors and overclocking. It features premium DDR5 8400 MT/s overclocked memory support, alongside M.2 Gen5 storage, unlocking options for some of the latest and greatest SSDs and RAM. Since this motherboard is designed with overclocking and extreme performance in mind, it makes sense that it’s also loaded with features designed to keep overall temperatures down and prevent damage. MSI’s Frozr Guard offering includes an M.2 Shield Frozr II, which is a screwless heatsink, as well as 7W/mk MOSFET thermal pads, an extended heatsink, and more. Since this is AM5 compatible, it means that you won’t have to replace this motherboard anytime soon, even when you feel like upgrading to new AM5 socket CPUs in the future. To get the most out of this board, it’s obviously worth pairing with very high-end components, which does drive the overall build cost higher. Is it a good time to buy?
