Skytech Gaming Legacy 4 Desktop PC – Ultra 9 285K

3.7 GHz(5.7 GHz Turbo), NVIDIA RTX 5080 16GB, Z890 Board, 2TB Gen4 NVMe SSD, 64GB DDR5 RAM 6000, 1000W Gold ATX 3 PSU, 420mm ARGB AIO, Wi-Fi, Win 11

Key features Skytech Gaming Legacy 4 Desktop PC

Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor

The top dog of the Core Ultra lineup, the 9 285K is a high-end processor that’s great for gaming, but also an excellent option for productivity, demanding creative workflows, and heavy multitasking, too. It has 24 cores and 24 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.7GHz, and a large 36MB L3 cache, and also features an NPU with 13 TOPS. Gaming performance, at least against the previous-gen 14900K, is a little mixed, largely due to the focus on efficiency, but it’s still up there with some of the best gaming CPUs on the market. For creatives, though, it’s a game-changer, as it boasts very strong multi-threaded performance for some of the most popular creative applications. Read our full review for more details.

RTX 5080 graphics card

One of the best graphics cards you can buy for 4K gaming and heavy-duty creative work. The RTX 5080 has 16GB of new and improved GDDR7 VRAM, which makes for a much smoother gaming experience, in addition to being enough for tasks like 3D rendering. It’s built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, which means you’re getting 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 5th-gen tensor cores. There are new features like MFG, which leverages the card’s increased AI performance to boost perceived framerates, too. Read our RTX 5080 FE review for a deeper dive into what this card is capable of.

Storage and RAM

This PC goes all-in on the RAM, opting for a whopping 64GB of DDR5. That’s overkill for most people, but it’s pretty amazing if you’re playing heavily modded open-world games or running RAM-intensive creative applications. Of course, it makes for super snappy multitasking, too. Alongside this, you’ve got a 2TB SSD, which is ideal for storing anything from large AAA games to hours of 4K footage, and more.

Things to consider

This is actually a great deal, and you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck, so the only real consideration is whether the Intel Core Ultra 9-285K is the best option for you. In short, you’ll find better gaming performance and a level of future proofing with something like the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, roughly for the same price, maybe even slightly less. You could even save a little more by going for a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which would also pair well with the RTX 5080, but since it’s older, it’s a bit cheaper nowadays. It is possible to find an RTX 5080 gaming PC for closer to $2,500, so check out our top gaming PC deals below to see what else is out there.
