In addition to the newly released Ryzen 9000 series processors, the new motherboards are compatible with the Ryzen 8000 and Ryzen 7000 CPUs. The X870E and X870 motherboards come with advanced features like WiFi 7 and USB 4 connectivity. Plus, as we saw in the leaks, these chipsets also offer better IO, tweaked VRM design, and other upgrades.
As we saw in our full list of X870E and X870 motherboards from Asus, MSI, ASRock, and Gigabyte, the prices of the new motherboards seem quite competitive. The entry-level options, ASRock X870 PRO RS and ASRock X870 PRO RS WiFi are priced at $199.99 and $209.99. Meanwhile, the Asus ROG Crosshair X870E Hero, priced at $699.99, is the most expensive and high-end motherboard.
In case you missed it, AMD released the next generation of its desktop processors – the Ryzen 9000 series – in August. Since the launch, AMD has been slashing prices of the Zen 5 processors to attract more customers – so you might end up getting a good deal on a new CPU.
Similarly, Intel is gearing up to release the Arrow Lake CPUs, which is the next generation of desktop CPUs. As per online speculations, the 15th gen processors will be released later in October. Along with the CPUs, Intel will also be rolling out the Intel Z980 motherboard, which is said to feature a default profile to avoid the instability issues that have been affecting the 13th and 14th gen processors.
