LEGO The Lord of the Rings was first released back in November 2012, and it quickly became a favorite for fans of both LEGO games and the Lord of the Rings movies. The game currently has more than 4,500 Very Positive reviews on Steam.

Yesterday, the developers released a surprise update for the game. The update confirmed that LEGO The Lord of the Rings is now officially Steam Deck Verified. For those who don’t know, Valve uses a verification system to show how well games run on the Steam Deck. If a game is listed as Verified, it means it works perfectly on the handheld right out of the box, so there’s no need to change settings or worry about performance problems.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings is now Steam Deck Verified

The dev who wrote this patch note almost sounds fed up.

Update

This update was to get the title Steam Deck verified.

Source: Steam

The short and not-so-sweet patch note only mentions the Verified status. The game predates the Steam Deck by a decade, so this change seems more like a formality than anything else. No other fixes or new features are mentioned, but for Steam Deck owners, this one change is notable. The game is a breeze to run and only asks for 8GB of disk space.

The game itself offers a lot for players to enjoy. You can explore a large open-world version of Middle-earth, take part in epic battles with Orcs, Uruk-hai, Balrogs, and more, and follow multiple storylines that connect directly to the movies. The LEGO mini-fig characters even deliver dialogue straight from the films.
