Earlier this year, ASUS gave us a glimpse of the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP, which is advertised as the world’s first dual-mode OLED gaming monitor that lets users switch between two combinations of resolution and refresh rates. While advertised as the world’s first, this kind of design has been done before – most notably in an LG OLED monitor launched earlier this year.

Over a month after unveiling the new monitor at Computex, ASUS has finally rolled out the product on its website. With the launch, we now have our hands on the finalized official product specs.

ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP can switch between 1080p and 4K

To start with, the ASUS ROG Swift OLED monitor has a 32-inch WOLED display with a panel from LG. The monitor comes with the ‘dual mode’ that lets you switch between 1080p with 480Hz and 4K with 240Hz. This means users can choose the combination of resolution and refresh rate that works best for the game they’re playing, or other workloads. In many cases, this means 4K for work and 1080p for competitive gaming.

However, it is not the first monitor to feature a dual mode. The LG UltraGear 32GS95UE also lets you switch between 4K and 1080p with high refresh rates.

As per the initial advertisement, the ASUS PG32UCDP is 30% brighter than the previous generations. With the 3rd gen OLED panel, the monitor claims to use MLA+ (Multi-Layer Actuator) tech to deliver 15% brighter HDR visuals than other displays in the class.

Further, the monitor offers a 0.03 ms GTG response time, which should make the transition between pixels smoother. The monitor has been equipped with the ROG-exclusive OLED Anti-flicker technology that is designed to decrease flickers when the refresh rates fluctuate.

The PG32UCDP also features a new AI Assistant that will be available from August 2024. The AI kit includes AI Crosshair, AI Shadow Boost, AI Sniper, AI Visual, and MOBA Map Helper – all of which are supposed to enhance the gaming experience.

ASUS has also equipped this monitor with a custom heatsink and OLED Care to improve its longevity. With the OLED Care hub, users can get the pixels cleaned regularly, enable screen saver, and also enable ‘screen move’ to protect the panel.

At the moment, the ASUS PG32UCDP monitor is available for sale on CaseKing, and it’s expected to roll out on other retailer websites soon. As we mentioned in our previous report, this feature-rich monitor is likely to be pricey. On Caseking, the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP is listed for €1,599.00.
